Mixed Caverject/Edex Shelf Life

Postby Irish Lad 34 » Sat Apr 05, 2025 12:47 pm

Caverject comes as a vial of powder + a tube of bacteriostatic water.

I assume most people mix the solution moments before injecting. I think this is how it's meant to be used.

I wonder: If you mix the solution - how long does it last before it's useless?

Like, can you keep a syringe of mixed solution in your pocket for a week?

I've mixed an Edex 40 and then decanted it into 3 syringes and froze 2 and used one immediately. Frozen I'd think it would be good for a long time. That's obviously very contrary to the instructions so don't do that!

I would not keep it in your pocket for a week. For an evening, no problem. The Caverject and Edex cartridges may not include ingredients that would make it safe for storage mixed and especially not in a pocket for a week at body temperature.
