Cycling advise needed AMS 700

Postby Rebz89 » Thu Jan 12, 2023 5:42 am

Hi I'm 4 weeks post op and able to cycle pretty pain free. (Love it so far just need to regain length as everyone does I know. But just keen to cycle correctly

Can someone tell me how they cycle? Do you pump then deflate in quick succession or keep inflated for long periods of times? How many times a day etc....
Are you using VED? how long after surgery would you use ved exercises and how long for etc? :)

Thanks people :)

Happy answer any questions and post any pics if needed

First you should follow your doctors instructions. If you want to try VED use post op then ask your doctor. After you are fully healed and released by your doctor you can decide if you want to go against doctors orders and try VED use or other methods of cycling. After I was fully healed I used long pump adding cycling. I would pump up to max where I would feel a stretching sensation and then wait aprox. five minutes. Most time the sensation would go away and I would add a few pumps. Then repeat. If the sensation turned to pain I would deflate and wait until my next scheduled time to cycle and try again. I did this for up to 1 hour and for twice a day for over a year and still do several times a week. I did try ved use one time but it caused me pain so I did not try it again.

Good luck going forward with this.

Thanks for the reply. I have seen some pages online that say to pump and deflate once a day for first week then second week do a full pump for 5 minutes and deflate etc. I'd just like to know everyone's cycling patterns and times to give me a good view of what and how to do it for myself. I'm doing 5 minutes or linger twice a day currently but feel I can do much more.

Your doctor should have given you instructions on what to do. That doctor cut you open and has the most information on what you should do. You trusted that doctor to do the surgery and you follow the doctors instructions. If you feel like you could be more aggressive on your cycling ask your doctor. No need to use some other doctors instructions for some other man.

Good luck.

For the first 6 months, you should do at least an hour a day, preferably 30-60 minutes twice a day. Some doctors recommend 15 minutes 3 times a day. I used to inflate twice a day. In the beginning, you will feel pain when inflating more than 30 minutes, so you can deflate, as newbie mentioned. After 6 months, you can cycle once a day for one hour, and after a year, 3 or 4 times a week, or if you are having sex 3 times a week, then no cycling is needed.

I started cycling at 4 weeks postop, doing 2 sessions a day, inflated to the absolute max. Early on sharp pain in my glans would develop at about the 30-minute mark, and I would have to deflate. Over the weeks it gradually took longer for the pain to start, and I could comfortably stay max hard for an hour each session. Now, 2 years out I can stay fully inflated for hours if I want to. In addition to sex, I still try to cycle at least 3 days a week. In the first year I gained 3/4" in length. As everyone says, it takes time and patience.
