Fantastic video resource for implants

Postby principles » Wed Jan 11, 2023 11:48 am

I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but here it goes:

It's the "Video Journal of Prosthetic Urology", VJPU, which is a library of sexual medicine videos. It's free and has a good amount of content.

Thank you so much for posting that link. I found some really interesting stuff in there. I am now 9 days post-op (and feeling great). Of course, SIZE is of the utmost concern to all of us. I found the following video particularly useful:

https://www.vjpu-issm.info/videos?start=70

It is an implant surgery by Dr. Kramer, who appears frequently as a top-choice, high-volume surgeon here on franktalk. Now, I am thus far happy with my choice of surgeons (Clavell), and all I know is that he emphasizes his understanding of "maximizing size" for all patients, and me, being a layman (and frankly pretty squeamish about watching this stuff. I haven't even looked at my own stitches yet), found his discussion of "maximizing techniques" during surgery fascinating. If I had seen this video first, I would have taken notes about Dr. Kramer's techniques for maximizing and been able to ask perhaps more intelligent questions, determining for myself directly with the surgeon if he does in fact use the techniques and share the same concerns as Dr. Kramer.

I am confident that Dr. Clavell does. LOTS of satisfied patients, but this video would have been a good starting point. I'd recommend to anyone considering the implant. And as always, the reputation of a well-known, well-respected, high-volume surgeon with lots of positive feedback is of the utmost importance. My local urologist was happy to do it, but after determining the importance of the preceding criterion, there is no way. He does 3-4 per month (and he's crappy about attention to detail in my previous tri-mix encounters), so he was out. When i was in the waiting area for my surgery for Dr. Clavell i noticed on the big scheduling TV monitor there that he had 5 IPP surgeries....that very day, and he operates 2-3 times per week.

Read your signature line also. So sorry you've had such early difficulty. I hope things resolve very much to your satisfaction. Best wishes friend.

Can you post the title of the video you found most helpful? With a quick glance I can't see one hosted by Dr. Kramer, there are many that come up using your link.

Thanks

EDIT: I found it, 4th one down. From 2018, I hope all of those techniques and more have become standard procedure with the docs that are aggressive sizers, and that even more have been developed in the last 5 years.
