Erosion question

Postby thedriver » Tue Jan 03, 2023 8:27 am

Quick question on the erosion topic. I'm almost a year in again after 4 surgeries, and I have just some mild pain when inflating.
If you suspect erosion is happening without any break thru yet, in other words if you feel pain or discomfort happening in the glans when you inflate, is there anything a person should be doing to avoid this getting any worse ?
Would going without inflating for a period of time help with this ? would that give it time to heal more ?
Would a period of VED help on this subject ?
Or would it be best to just leave it deflated for a period of time.
Thanks for any feedback on this guys.
After 4 Titan IPP failures within 4 years I finally wised up and went to the Malleable Genesis 23cm- 13mm implanted 2-1-24 and no regrets so far.

I had misaligned tips in my glans causing pain. I had the same fear and I would pull the glans forward or out away from the cylinder tips. If you are doing pump adding cycling omit that pump adding. If not just inflate to just below 100% and again pull the glans out away from the cylinder tips to stretch the tissue. And put gaps between the cycling to as you said permit time to heal or fill back in. You can still use traction or stretching by pulling out in place of daily cycling. This way you are also working on gaining some length so that in time you can pump to 100% and even add pumps after max inflation for 5 minutes or so. Worked for me.

Good luck.

All of that make perfect sense, thank you for your reply.

I probably don't deflate to the point that I should, and I stay inflated a little to long during the day, I thought it would be good for the flexibility and soften the implant.
My surgeon never once mentioned anything about erosion at all.
Does the implant actually come thru the skin ?
can it be caught in time and left alone to heal ?
is it a cylinder revision surgery to correct this erosion once it happens ?
All the topics I find on erosion have already happened and there is not much info, on how it happens, or how to prevent it.
Thank you for any feedback

I am concerned for the same reasons.

My tips do not go into the glans and they feel like they are to the side just below instead. I can prominently feel the tips and when even partially inflated they press hard against the skin of the shaft. I rarely feel pain but it is a constant worry. My surgeon says erosion is very very unlikely and I should use it as normal and as intended.

I would suspect if they do break through the skin it will be an emergency revision due to infection but hopefully that won’t happen.

I agree jimmi85, I just sort of worry that once it starts to erode there is no other way but to setup another Dr, visit.
The tips of my tubes are even and end at the same area, but they are very high on the top side of my glans, not really giving me a floppy head, but I can absolutely feel the tips on each side of the head of my penis, even thru my jeans.
Not extreme pain, but a number 4 out of 10.
Aggressive cycling for the past 2 weeks may have over done it.
I'm hoping to skip cycling it for a week or so and see if it will improve on its own.
