Nothing against research but ….
I have read many many posts. My personal opinion is no amount of research in the world can tell you what’s going to happen with your implant. It is usually different for everyone. There are so many variables . I know people get obsessed with failure rates. I had a Honda that was a lemon they bought it back and I got another with more options . With any mechanical device there will be those that fail. Regardless of how good of a product it it. That’s just the reality. So I’ll say my personal experience. I was tired of pills, injections(stopped being effective anyway) and destroying my dick by creating scar tissue. I love sex. And I wanted the freedom to be able to perform whenever I want and without saying to my partner to give me a minute so I could run to the bathroom and inject because she surprised me with let’s have sex. So for me the implant was a no brainer and whatever cons that come with it I’ll deal with as long as I can continue to experience the benefits. So I say to all doing tons of research what I did was research my physician I chose one that was very experienced and was a Coloplast surgeon that was “elite”. Which basically as I learned was the surgeon they recommend to people that have had other doctors do a bad implant or the doc that handles the most difficult cases. 99 percent of my research was about the doctor . Because of my scar tissue I knew Titan was the implant and the doc confirmed on our fist meeting about it. My doctor doesn’t advertise and he even told me the main reason is he doesn’t want a flood of people wanting an implant for pure convenience I assume go go dancers/porn stars lol. But he didn’t say. He even gave me the number of a guy that had an implant so I could get a patients experience.
tried the pills limited success , trimix for 6 years . trimix failed due to heavy scarring .Bionic date 12/8. Titan 22cm plus 1 rte. 49 years old. Dr.Sadeghi-Nejad in NJ

I will agree to a certain point with you. Had you not researched you would have not known the Titan was best for you. And had you gone to a very good doctor that was AMS only you would have not received a Titan.
My first doctor said the first implant was the easiest and any surgeon could do. And there are many men who have been implanted by low volume doctors and managed ok. And there are no guarantee's with any doctor. They all have infection and reoperation rates. What we do with research is to get enough information to understand the implant surgery and recovery. And to hopefully avoid a doctor who just wants to put something in. It's all about improving your chances for a great outcome.

Re: Nothing against research but ….
I actually did very little research before my implant, and I wish I had. At the time Trimix was beginning to fail when I saw an ad from a doc in Vegas who did implants. I never knew about implants. Met with one doc who did them, but he admitted he did very few and referred me to a partner who did a couple a week. That doc did a doppler and told me I had leakage. During the year waiting before committing to the surgery I actually looked up a video of the surgery. I couldn't watch the whole thing. No more looking up implant information after that, not even sure I wanted to go through with it. But I did, hurt like hell for a while. Now I'm glad I did.

I was mainly referring to failure rates and mechanical details. And actually I wanted the ams lgx because of its ability to increase in size but after talking to the doctor he assured me that wasn’t the best in my case. Nothing work with wanting to know about something going in your body but personally once I decided it was for me the failure rates etc wasn’t a factor.

The LGX doesn't increase in size, it just decreases in size when deflated. Your length will be the same as if you got a Titan

Ya, I know. That "it shrinks" gets posted every once in a while. Folks, the reason it shrinks back (to its advertised length) is because it grew during inflation. Oh wait, it behaves exactly like a natural grower does. Since most men are growers. Wouldn't a growing implant be a good choice??
I haven't done the math but I wonder if a natural growers flacid grows 25% during erection?

I don't know enough to say one way or the other but this is directly from the ams lgx website "AMS 700™ LGX Penile Prosthesis: The only penile implant on the market with cylinders designed to expand in girth and length of up to 25%¹. it could be fancy marketing. either way my dr told me it wasn't the one for me

Mr. Wiff, please fill out your signature (Age, when implanted, etc), so at least we know a little bit of you.
I discovered FT AFTER my surgery. I wish I found it prior and got the DL of the different types.
I ended up getting a Titan (legacy). Manually have to pump, like all the others, but the difference is the deflation. I actually have to hold 2 buttons in and squeeze my dick to get all the saline out.
I was implanted 3 days before the nation shut down! No lie. I was planning on having my buddy take care of me for 2 weeks, and when everything shut down, those 2 weeks turned into over 5 months, lol.
Now I see him almost every weekend.

Natural grower, here. My penis nearly tripled in length from flaccid to erect when it was fully functional. With the LGX, I get about a 25% lengthening from flaccid to erect.
