When you have an implant does the penis glans engorged or not?, some guys say that their glans engorged while the medical articles say that the glans DO NOT engorged at all.
The second question is about implant longevity, some clinics say that the average life expectancy is 20 years while others say is between 5 and 10, why so many contradicting data?, I really need an implant but I'm scare about the complications and durability, why they don't have control and better REAL information about the implants, why so many discrepancies?

Does the penis glans engorged with an implant or not?, durability of the implant?
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years

Re-read the articles. I bet (if they are well-written) the article specifies that the IMPLANT does not engorge the glans. The implant has no relationship or effect on the glans' engorgement or the engorgement of the shaft outside the tunica albuginea and cavernosum. Those tissues are called the spongiosum and their engorgement is enabled by a separate system.
Now, the nerves that allow excitement of the blood supply that engorges the spongiosum MIGHT be affected or even damaged by the implant operation. That would be a matter of the surgeon's skill and medical mistakes are a separate issue.

Research, research, research. There are many articles in legitimate medical journals that study on the service life of implants. Find them. Or talk to the manufacturers' representatives to find real statistics on the matter. What you get here is true, but anecdotal. Anecdotal evidence is of limited use in getting the true picture.
The calculation of the service life on an implant is complicated by a number of factors: How often is any man's implant inflated/deflated and to what degree? What is the mode of failure? Was the failure caused by physical damage from outside forces to the implant (e.g. automobile accident, bicycling accident, etc) or was it a failure of the implant itself? Is it mechanical (and which part, pump, valve, tubing, reservoir, the implant tubes) or organic (infection from the implant or some other source) or perhaps the implant moving out of place or something like that? Also, some men die with their implant still functional - how does that figure into the calculation of average service life? And some revisions are for reasons other than implant failure.
My implant has been used once or twice a week for the past 4 years and cycled once or twice a day (skipping one or a few days a week) for as long as I have been able. I have been implanted since November 2017 and the implant shows no sign of weakness, fragility or old age. Anecdotal evidence, that.

The implant doesn't cause your glans to engorge. For many of us who have good blood flow, the glans will still engorge on their own with an implant.

It took a while after implant for my glans to engorge, but now they get so full it's tough to deflate after sex. As far as how long an implant lasts there are so many variables no one can tell you with 100% accuracy. If I remember right, there was a fellow on here a few months ago that said his implant was 22 years old and still working.
Just remember that there are thousands of guys who are implanted that never come here or say anything about their ED issues and fixes. Human nature makes us holler when things go wrong, but rarely do we praise when things go our way.

Yes - glans engorgement was a pleasant surprise for me.
Pre-surgery my Doc disclosed that glans engorgement could be permanently compromised by the implant. I got it back after six months. It's weird, after I orgasm the glans subsides but returns if I am still at it.
EDIT - I was told my implant 'has the potential' to last 10 - 12 years. I will get another one tomorrow if/when the time comes.

LostSheep - you still cycle, 4 years later? My understanding was that after 1 year, there is no real benefit in continuing cycling? Did you find it helped with length/girth ?

I was my original length immediately after recovery from the surgery. Did not lose any length. Now, 5 years on I seem to have gained a tiny bit (hard to tell, because I lost some weight as well). But I still cycle for the same classic reason mountain climbers say they climb mountains, "Because it's there." I cycle because I can. It feels good after 35 years of diminishing erectile capacity, having that stiffness, that weight, that "manliness" out there is just nice. I don't hope to gain anything. I do hope that I do not lose any size. Cycling promises to prevent that (though there is no evidence to suggest size loss without cycling is a danger).
It is satisfying to lie in bed with my manhood (relatively) intact. Also, even when not having sex, it gives my girlfriend something to play with even if I am asleep.

I think I get it. after years of ed when I got up in the morning my penis was dead no morning wood. but after the surgery I have had the sensation of morning wood every time I wake up. Not sure if the implant unclogged something or whatever but I think this is what the op is referring to. I have no idea why until I see my doc and ask but I don't think its a bad thing
