Well that depends on many things. Can be as quick as the doctor has an open surgery date .

Why are you waiting?
Seems like the only wait time would be the time to vet/select a surgeon and getting on their schedule.

Your post history does not mention that you even have an implant. Are you worrying about a fear of something that might happen in the future?
In my opinion, this fear is way over blown. Most members don't seem to need to wait very long.

Re: How long do I wait before replacing a failed implant
I would only wait until my surgeon's office opened the next day. Probably not that long - I would call and leave a voice message with the answering service.
I see no medical reason to wait. And not cycling has the potential (though not very much) to allow shrinkage. But the main reason for haste is to note waste any time for sexual activity. (Note: "It is not a use it or lose it" thing. It is a "Use it to the max." thing.)

You should schedule any time you want to. Just remember, use it or lose it. Also get your $$$. Hopefully you have insurance.
For me, I will be going on 3 years, but if I need a replacement, I would be gathering my pics from BEFORE my original implant, search for a surgeon based on FT talk (mine sucked (no pun intended)). Have a pow-wow with him/her, and move on.

Is there an option to get it revised by a different doctor? Warranty allows for this?

Sure you can. But the title of the thread was a failed implant indicating a breakage. Of course there are many other reasons for a repair or replacement. But not all doctors do repairs or replacements. There are perforations and cross overs. Improper sizing. And a lot of others. If the device fails right after surgery it may take time locating a doctor to do the repair or replacement. If the problem is more cosmetic the doctors like for the first surgery to be fully healed before doing a second surgery. And a few really good doctors will do a full replacement shortly after the first surgery. There was a member that had multiple surgeries right after the first and the stiches tore out of the scar tissue. So it all depends on many things but mostly your doctor. Warranty is still in place however the doctor that did the first surgery may not charge for the device and wait for reimbursement from insurance and another doctor might. Of course that is only dealing with device failures and not problems with the surgery. And the warranty is for the device only not for the other doctor and hospital charges. If you have insurance then you just have to wait for approval and let them worry about the reimbursement from the device manufacturer.

Re: How long do I wait before replacing a failed implant
Your initial post says your worried for the future and your not implanted yet…
At least get implanted before you start worrying about a failure! I feel like failures are much lower percentages than a lot of people think. Keep in mind you hear about the problems here more than the successes! I’m sure every man who has an implant has a mild concern about failure but every time my mind goes there I think I’ll use this thing til it breaks then I’ll get revision ASAP! Next week if they could work me in that quick. Hopping for many many years of use
