One week ago

Postby Badspartan » Wed Dec 07, 2022 1:31 pm

It was one week ago that I became a bionic brother. It has been a good week and so far I can’t say I’ve had any pain. My scrotum has been a little uncomfortable, but I think that’s from the way that I was wrapped up after surgery. The gauze had formed a “rope” and it seemed to strangulate my nuts. I’ve had a little trouble with constipation even though I’ve not used pain meds. I thought I’d prepared for this by taking stool softeners before and after surgery. I do have a question. I’m still finding some drainage in my underwear, and wondering when that should go away.

Thanks again for all advice and words of encouragement

Welcome to the bionic brotherhood!
Super that you pain level isn't too bad. Constipation got me when I took the pain meds, exlax or enemas.
The drainage worries me. Have you followed up with your doc? Is it blood or clear fluid? At one week the incision should be near healed. Hopefully it's not an infection.

I had some clear/red discharge with occasional slight pus 2-3 weeks after surgery. The surgeon’s office started me on Keflex and had me clean the incision with baby shampoo and ensure throughly dry. It resolved after a week or so. No big deal in the end. Call your surgeons office.
