PAIN

Postby España1980 » Sun Sep 11, 2022 6:36 pm

Hello, one of the things that I ask you is about pain. Did any of you who have implants hurt so much this season that you even thought it was better to remove the implant so that the pain would go away? It is one of the issues that worries me the most in case one day I decide. Are there any of you who still have pain after a few years after the implant?

I think you will find that any ongoing pain much past the surgical experience and immediate recovery time is very unusual and a clear, very small minority of guys. The most common pain I think you will hear about is when there is a non-optimal placement of the cylinder tips in relation to the glans/head of your penis, and sometimes pain can persist in this circumstance. Even that is correctable. Avoidable, with a highly experienced surgeon...but correctable.

There's not really a world where you can "remove the implant" later. You can, but you will not be having any sort of penetrative sex that you would recognize or value. Implant is non-reversible. The very act of implanting the prosthesis functionally destroys the penis' ability to engorge blood in any meaningful, functional way. Final frontier. If you leap to implant, you can revise/re-do/make adjustments surgically, but you'll not be without an implant going forward if you want to have sex.

Of course, there is probably someone on FT here who has had a horrible, painful experience...like what you worry about here. Just consider the #'s of guys implanted vs the # of intractably bad experiences and make your decision accordingly. Risk vs Reward.

Good luck. Just pick a top surgeon and benefit from their massive experience and your odds to enjoy a great implant experience and sex life are going to skyrocket.

Hell no. I never experienced anything I would categorize as real pain.

I was sore for a week.

It stung when I urinated for a few days after having been catheterized.

The first few times I pumped I had some mild discomfort as I stretched parts of me that hAd recently had surgery done.

No two guys are alike when it comes to this. A big question would be “how have you done with other surgeries?” To me, this was on par with hernia repair/vasectomy. A bit more involved than a colonoscopy, but much much less than rotator cuff surgery.

Part of it is your attitude approaching it. If you think “this will go well, I’ll have a great outcome, I’m not going to hurt too much” chances are you’ll do better than if you worry about agonizing pain.

I’ve only had my implant for around three weeks now, so I can’t speak to the issue of long-term pain, but my experience so far actually surprised me. I have had an easy recovery so far with nothing more than what I would describe as mild discomfort. Perhaps that’s because I had myself prepared for the worst and expected more discomfort. I really think a lot of it has to do with your surgeon. I was given a pain block that lasted about 48 hours, and then after that wore off, I took extra strength Tylenol as needed. There are certainly times when I feel a bit sore, but that’s to be expected with such sensitive surgery and, again, it’s very manageable. Take it easy. Listen to your doctor. And you should do well.

I've been with my implant for 6 months now, and I can tell you that I do not even remember the pain. There is soreness right after the operation, but if you follow your doctor's instructions closely, you will have a beautiful experience.

Here is what I did.....

1) For the 1st 10 days, take it easy. No heavy lifting. Walking was a big help. I walked 2 miles since the moment I got home from the hospital. My doctor highly recommended it, and it did wonders.

2) I really did not use the opioid medicine, I stuck with Tylenol and Motrim.

3) After my first visit back, I started to cycle. I have stuck to this routine 3 times a day.

4) The more you use it (on your own) or with a partner, you'll know what your # to pump to is good for you at the beginning. It gets better sa every day passes.

Like another person posted. Not all men are created equal, but a great majority of men here that have had an implant done, are extremely happy with it.

Good luck
