VED before surgery

Postby mschicago » Mon Sep 05, 2022 11:25 am

7 weeks out from surgery and beginning to pump in preparation for it. How long do they suggest pumping a day? How many sessions? And if you have complete impotence like me does pumping even help? Thanks in advance!

Just my opinion. If you've stopped having periodic night time semi erections. VED use is more important to you. Your tissue really needs blood flow occasionally. Night time erections provide that blood flow automatically.

I don't think there's a standard routine. I believe I've come across studies that reported positive results of using a VED for 10-15 minutes a day, others 30, others 2 hours. I'd assume doing 1 hour a day of VED exercise is a little better than 15 minutes a day, but 4 hours compared to 2 hours probably doesn't have much of a practical effect (though if you're like me, no harm in trying to do it for 4+ hours a day anyway. Like any exercise, might as well try pretty hard for it to work well).

About if the VED will help despite your impotence, I think that's exactly what it will help. As for how, I don't think I'm smart enough to tell you. I do believe I understand that concept - years of erectile dysfunction causes fibrosis on your dick tissues making them scar down. (I don't even know what fibrosis means, but I'm basing all this off what Dr. Perito says in this video: https://peritourology.com/2021/07/mtp-5 ... t-surgery/)

This means a dude could have a 7.5" dick at age 25 but when he's 50 the erections are nowhere near as hard, and because of less blood flow and lack of use the tissue has been getting weaker and weaker and smaller and smaller taking his size down to <6.5" or smaller. Then a VED leads to this:

VED, which are traditionally a closed end plastic cylinder placed over the penis, use negative pressure via a battery or hand-operated vacuum suction to increase penile blood flow via distension of corporal sinusoids. This negative pressure subsequently induces arterial blood flow into the sinusoidal spaces of cavernosal tissues. Doppler studies have shown nearly a 2-fold increase in cavernosal artery diameter with use of VED.¹ Notably, VED can stimulate oxygenation of corpora without need for an intact nerve supply, a benefit vs pharmacological options for erectile dysfunction such as PDEi-5.

Can anyone explain distension of corporal sinusoids and cavernosal tissues etc. etc.?

Sometimes the best kind of proof is anecdotal. Here's how a VED helped Rider1400 get back his size before implant, and I tried to explain the benefits.

The medical literature suggests twice a day for 30 minutes per session for 60 days prior to implant.

I prefered pumping up to full erection for 30-60 seconds and releasing the vacuum and repeating. This not only stretches the tissues, emulating a man's normal nocturnal erections, but flushes oxygenated blood through those tissues, also emulating nocturnal erections (albeit, not as thoroughly, at least it is something).
