Anyone regretting having an implant?
Is there anyone on this forum that wished never got the implant? I want to have an implant but I have my doubts, before I get the implant I want to know all the pros and cons of such an invasive procedure. The implant can be amazing for some people but also can be a nightmare for others.
I had a trauma 2 years ago, caused me narrowing, dent and shortening. PRP injections three months ago=worse narrowing, and worse ED. Now I only have two choices: impotent or implant. Born in 1975, in a relationship with girlfriend fir 4 years

Re: Anyone regretting having an implant?
I only have great things to say about my amazing implant. I suffered from ED for over 14 years. I hated the pills because of the side effects, tried the pump, but that was a pain to use and the bands did not feel very sexy. Then I found the Trimix injections. They worked great, nice hard erection in about 10 min. and lasted for 2+ hours, then I had a semi for another hour. Over the 12 years that I used them it added over an inch to my girth, 6.5+"
, a nice handful. But then even the injections became less reliable, I would get hard but after about 20 min. it would go to a semi. That's when I went to the implant.
I have always been a grower, flaccid, less then an inch most of the time, but 5.5" hard. Now I'm 4" flaccid all the time and still 5.5" pumped up. Sometimes I leave it hard for hours, if I want a little "extra" show in my pants, I'll give it a couple of pumps from flaccid. I have had my implant for 4 years now and have had no problems. A great surgeon is the key, and I had one! I love to show and tell to anyone interested.
If your interested I will be happy to PM you pictures and answer ANY questions you have, just send me a PM.

Re: Anyone regretting having an implant?
My careless doctors gave me a condition called distal crossover. It takes a major surgery to fix it and I was told by the surgeon who wanted to do that that until I have it fixed it is dangerous. I should be one of the first to say this surgery was a very very bad idea. But considering the alternative permanent impotency I will gladly very gladly every time absolutely no question be happy elated excited running toward it to be first in line each and every time.

Screwed,
I am wondering why are you depending on those with regrets. Most of those people had still functioning penis (with use of some aide) and also, they had unrealistic expectations.
You are to the point of just 2 choices: impotent or implanted.
I don’t think it should be hard to make right choice. I was in same Situation as you after removing my prostate for cancer. I tried everything possible and nothing work for me. At 53 y/o I couldn’t say goodbye to my sex life so I made right choice.

The ONLY regret I have is that I did not do this sooner. In my family, 6 of the males, ranging from age 42 to 68 have had prostate caner. We all had a very high PSA and a Gleason Score of 7 and up. Unfortunately all 6 of us had the prostate removed and subsequent (chemo or radiation).
All 6 of us have been implanted. The first being 15 years ago, and I was last (March of this year) No issues. There has been an occasional discussion in which 2 have used a VED to gain some length and girth after the fact.
I can tell you from the bottom of my heart is the following:
1- Take all the time in selecting your surgeon. Try to avoid those that see this as a business. I decided on an urologist that works mostly on Prostate Cancer.
2- Once implanted, follow your doctor's advise to the letter, don't get ahead of yourself. It will be 4-6 months for you to start feeling normal and accept this as your new best friend.
3- Sex at first may not feel like before, but TRUST ME, by the 4th month, it will be fucking AMAZING !!!
4- Some guys cycle daily (you should as well), but the days/nights you don't have sex, MASTURBATE. This advise was given to me by the liaison from Boston Scientific. She recommend Masturbation as oppose to using a VED. In their data, they have seen a spike in using VED damaging the implant device. Some men have had to go back and replace it. So, cycle in the morning and afternoon, masturbate before going to bed.
5- You will read about the Perrito exercise. CAREFUL, it depends on the device that you are implanted with. According to Michelle at Boston Scientific, she had me cycle my normal 15 pumps, then take my penis and use it as a stick shift. I do 2 rounds of 1st gear, second, third and fourth gear. Once I did the 2 rounds I reach down and pump 2 more times, Bringing it to 17 pumps. I've been doing this for the last 4 weeks. I started with 15 pumps and know I am at 19 pumps. You want to pump until it feels great. Don't over do it. If I pump to 20+, sex is uncomfortable and it kinda hurts.
6- Instead of using a VED, my urologist/surgeon has me on a daily regimen of 7mg Cialis, this helps a lot with the gland.
It's a marathon, don't have any expectations that you'll be awesome out of the gate. Keep in mind that this is an invasive procedure and your body (specially your dick) needs time to adjust and heal. Just cycle and do your daily exercises to avoid scarring.
Last but not least, this site has been heaven for me. I've learned a lot from everyone's experience. But, the reality is, that every guy here is unique. What might work for one guy may work opposite to anther, even if they had the same brand of implant.
Again, the ONLY regret is that I did not do this sooner. My sex life has never been this great.

Re: Anyone regretting having an implant?
Mixed feelings. I had some functionality when implanted. After the implant we had sex one time and she decided not to have sex anymore. I went 3 years before the implant failed and underwent another surgery. So in 4 years I have spent many thousands, had 2 surgeries, went through discomfort of 2 healing processes, have a penis which is significantly shorter, have issues with airport security and tight pants, but I did have sex one time. My erections are terrific and good to know I can get hard, but I don’t seem to need them.

Re: Anyone regretting having an implant?
No regrets at all, except for the healing. I happened to have a reaction to the antibiotic impregnated on the cylinders. Now at 2 1/2 years out it's the best thing I've ever done for me and my wife.
Trust me, the surgery isn't bad but the first couple of weeks you might be asking why did I do this. Once you are all healed up and using it, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Cartman, may I ask you how many revisions happened in your family? Six bionic brothers that can share this subject is almost unique I guess but very informative about revisions and infection risk.

Re: Anyone regretting having an implant?
Oh yes! At this moment it's the worst mistake of my life! First let me say I'm very glad (and jealous I guess) that it goes well for most people. But I am pleased for everyone. I am a few days short of 12 weeks. I was in good Health before this. Now my right side abdomen and groin area is uncomfortable most of the time with discomfort being pain if I'm trying to bend and lift and do work outside. My penis is somewhat uncomfortable and sore on the right side much of the time. My pelvic floor is regularly uncomfortable and especially so if I sit for very long at a desk. I think there is something going on with my prostrate. Some of my symptoms seem worse if I have sex or ejaculate but I'm not totally sure of that. I lost a lot of size too, especially girth but that's the least of my problems now. Unless something changes I have lost my basic health. My doctor isn't too concerned. I'm scheduled with a new doctor but that is not for another month. I am still in shock. I had no idea I was gambling with my basic health. Statistically this will probably go well for you but please know that if it goes bad, it can go really really bad.
