Burning when standing up

Postby Scott61 » Sun Jun 19, 2022 7:56 pm

I’m 3 days post surgery, penoscrotal incision. Reservoir incision is about 3 inches below my bellybutton. The doctor said to lay flat for 7 days, only getting up for meals and bathroom use. I feel real good while laying down but as soon as I start getting up everything from my scrotum to the reservoir burns. It’s hard to stand up straight. I think it’s the tubing pulling. How long will this last?

Are you wearing something really supportive? I wore a jock strap 24/7 for almost 4 weeks following surgery. I suffered very little pain. You might think about it.
20 years of severe Peyronie's plaque, 90 curve, hinging and ED. Cost me 1.5" L and 1" G.
Implanted 2/18/21, AMS CX, 18 CM + 3 RTE, penoscrotal. Have gained 3/4". Gay, married, age 68.

Ice, ice and more ice. First week is rough. My reservoir gave me burning for about a month now it’s just part of my body. Ice is your best friend. Use bags of frozen peas or corn. Cheap and conform to the curves good luck

Hi Scot… I’m 5 weeks out of surgery.. It is a difficult time. I had pain for 16 days then turned the corner to being uncomfortable… you have to be patient…. It’s tough stuff!!

Ice like everyone says… pain meds as prescribed and best to lie flat… try and keep your testicles elevated on a soft cloth or wash towel….

Keep counting the days…until it’s over… I hope it eases soon for you!

Thanks for the replies. Has anyone had this specific issue, and how long did it take to go away? Another thing I just noticed is the skin under my shaft seems numb; is that normal and should it resolve?

Scott… all of this including the burning and pain and everything is going to seem very weird for at least two weeks… It is very anxiety provoking! You cannot start overthinking unless you see signs of infection like fever, discharge, swelling, that kind of stuff then you need to call your surgeon… But pain, numbness, burning is all part of the first two weeks… It’s unfortunate but it’s how it is…Ice, lying flat, pain medication, and keep your testicles elevated… Each day will feel better… it doesn’t seem like it will ever end but one day you’ll turn the corner and think OK it’s not horrible today… Good luck!
