AMS vs Titan, Warranty

Postby Tokyo_123 » Fri Apr 15, 2022 7:51 am

Just had a consult with a doctor about whether to choose the AMS or the Titan. He stated (if I remember correctly) that the AMS has a 5 year warranty while the Titan has a lifetime warranty. Also, upon revision of Titan I would only have to pay doctor fees, figuring in the $10,000 range (in current USD) while revision of the AMS after five years is double that since the device itself is around $10,000.

I assume that this is correct and if so, why would anyone paying out of pocket choose the AMS (5 yr warranty) vs the Titan (lifetime warranty)?

Tokyo,
Everything is not just about money, it is how you feel with it. For some, money could be and is a big factor. I went to nursing school which cost me good amount of money. When I started working as Nurse, I did not like it at all. Changed inpatients for outpatients and still did not worked well. As the matter of fact, I hated it. Went back to college for another degree in radiological diagnostics and therapy. From day one on my new job, I loved it and I excelled in it. I saw my self working that job for the rest of my life.
But under unfortunate circumstances, I left my fatherland, and ended here in America at beginning of 1998. I am back to nursing job but with no patients contact at all. I am doing reaserch and that makes me happy again.
Every one lost money in 2008 and 2009 when stocks crushed. I lost 5X more then what new implant cost now.
I want you to feel good, no matter Titan or AMX. I had both. Even life time warranty on Titan, does not mean mutch. You have to pay in advance for whole new implant, than you have to wait and see if you will get something back. Warranties on healthcare devices is not same as new car warranty. Manufacturers are scrutinizing it to find way to avoid paying for it.
Good luck my friend.

as I understand it every nation has its own conditions and prices, in Italy my surgeon told me 5 for ams and 10 for coloplast, and there is no insurance covering the implant, if you want the implant in Italy you have to leave it own pocket and very limited guarantees, there are no guarantees even in case of infection
56, DE since 2010, the pills worked at high doses not well, on 01/23/23 titan one touch 22, Dr. Gabriele Antonini, Replacement from titan to cx 21 with ms pump on 04/03/2025, today I am almost 60 years old and have various pathologies, testosterone
