Coloplast Clinic

Postby jimmi85 » Mon Mar 21, 2022 8:14 am

I am 5 weeks post op, and although my swelling and pain has almost completely gone, I am still having real difficulties finding the damn release valve. I think it is in an Antero-Posteriorly position, so effectively behind the pump facing my pubic bone and due to my relatively small scrotum I am having major difficulties and have therefore not begun cycling yet.

I have been speaking with my local Coloplast Rep, who has been amazing and she has booked me in to one of her clinics at UCLH hospital in London on Wednesday to show me in depth the best and easiest way to inflate and more so deflate.

Has anyone ever been to one of these clinics?

Ordinarily one would learn from their surgeon but mine is some 500 miles away.

Thanks

I have an AMS and did meet with the Boston Scientific rep, and doubt if a meeting with the Coloplast rep would be a lot different. My surgeon set an appointment for me with the rep at four weeks following surgery. Very nice, professional young man. I was still partially inflated at around 30%, and after after I dropped my pants, he checked for pump and cylinder positioning, deflated and re-inflated my dick to just about the max, quickly checked that out for rigidity and had me find the deflate button and do it myself to show him I could locate the button. I then inflated and deflated again and satisfied him I knew what I was doing, cleared me to start cycling and sent me on my way. BTW, it was the same guy who was in the operating room for my surgery. It was a quick, easy and reassuring everything was working right. Your rep should be able to really help you.

Finding the little release button is tough. I had to go back to doc 2 times because I inflated but couldn't find the button. On my Coloplast doc placed it towards my left testicle since I'm right-handed. Not sure why. I found that holding the pump tight to the skin while running a finger along the side will help find that small bump of a button. Good Luck.
