Hi everyone - got my surgery scheduled next week, with Dr. Eid. Pretty scared, but this forum has really helped, especially Merrix’s posts. Like Merrix I’m a younger guy (relative to this population), in shape, successful, can get hard but not keep it due to VL, and will be coming from out of town for the surgery. Unlike him I don’t have a lovely wife to hold my hand (remotely) through this, so again thank you to this forum for being there!
Anyway, some recovery questions for the group, particularly for other Eid patients:
1. Any particular ice packs or methods for icing that are good?
2. If it’s two- to three days’ bed rest post-surgery, can you get up to answer the door for food?
3. How easy was walking on day 3 or 4? What about air travel on day 5ish? On whatever day I’m ok to travel (I understand it might be longer but am hoping for day 5), will I still need help getting to the airport or to my flight if I have a standard roller bag with me? And will sitting upright for a couple hours be an issue? My flight isn’t long enough that anyone offers lie flat seats...
4. I keep reading that inflating is easier in the tub. I don’t have a bathtub at home right now (long story). Has anyone tried one of these inflatable tubs? Any recommendations?
I think that’s enough for now. Thanks in advance for any help!
John
PS Special thanks also to Tangerine and Merrix whose posts have been invaluable to me in making this decision.

I had mine with Eid 3 weeks ago — will pm you with answers and more.
75, used pills, injections -- all lost effectiveness. Titan implanted by Eid in Feb '22.

Re: Recovery questions, particularly for Eid patients
Good morning,
I had my surgery with Dr Eid 3 years ago. I got up to get ice when brought to my room. I walked to Dr Eid's office 3 days after the surgery. I iced with towel & the hospital gave me rubber gloves to put the ice in. I took a taxi to the bus station & took a 5 hour bus ride home & drove from the bus station to my home.
I am married but I went alone to NYC, since my wife is legally blind. I took sit baths starting the 3rd day it help with the swelling & bruising, as well as, the discomfort.
