Revision question
The urologist confirmed that my implant of 4 years has failed. I currently have a AMS 700 CX 24cm with 0.5 RTE. She recommended the titan as a replacement. Given the AMS failed under warranty and there will be no cost for the hardware, will insurance be an issue if I am switched to a titan? Has anyone had this situation?

Re: Revision question
I have had several revisions. I started with a Titan and not changed. If you have insurance the warranty is obsolete. They will pay for a new implant whichever one you decide on. The hospitals bill for a new implant each time anyways. You deductible and co-pays are the same for a revision as well as the initial surgery.

Thanks for the first hand report. I had heard that medical devices only had the hoop jumping on the first one. But I've hesitate to broadcast that info without better info

I am not sure about the insurance response but would recommend going ahead with your doctor's recommendation. Titan will be a perfect fit for your size. AMS only produces an (On Demand) implant for 24cm cylinders. So, I believe Titan is way more efficient for this length.
