Can you use VED after infection and removal?

Has anyone had an implant removed after infection and not had another implant installed for several months (or years)? Do the corpora collapse or was it possible to keep them open by using a VED to pump the penis up?

yes, although i'm not sure if this can be done when a malleable is inserted.
