Best Docs in California?

Postby guypalmsprings » Fri Nov 26, 2021 10:22 pm

Am seriously considering implant surgery but want a recommendation for good doctors with high-volume experience. SoCal or NorCal, does not matter. Many thanks.

Dr Jeffry Loh Doyle and Dr Boyd at USC Keck in LA. Great hospital and staff also. Dr Krapman in Mountain View also but he told me Dr Boyd was closer to me and had been doing them for 30 years.

In Northern California, most people seem to say that Edward Karpman MD is the best for implants. He is in Mountain View.

If You have Kaiser insurance or it is an option, I recommend Dr. George Abdelsayed in Los Angeles. I did lots of research and saw a total of 6 urologist before making that decision. I just had my 1st annual follow up with a pleased review from him (and me too). We continue to have a good relationship and he is now my regular urologist.
Prior to choosing him I even called his mentor, Dr.Levine, the big gun in Chicago, who gave him a strong recommendation. As others have said on this site… be part of your medical team. No one cares more about you getting the best result than you. Many will say go with the highest volume and that may be useful advice but doesn’t have to be the “be all, end all” in making your decision. Good luck and prayers that all goes well from here on out.

I traveled 700 miles to go to Karpman. I liked him and love the outcome. Send me a PM if you want to discuss. I chose him for several reasons.

i personally would not get operated by someone who uses more than 1cm RTE or that uses the infrapubic incision.

this is why i travel to dr eid. additionally i prefer his approach of using special stitches to start cycling on day three.

plus most guys who use him have the same size. sizing is important.

i live in CA and would rather travel to the best.
