Has anybody gone from 3 piece to 2 piece implants

Hi I’m looking for some patient reviews on the 2 piece ams ambicor implant after seein* my urologist yesterday he advised me that instead of the 3 piece implant to go for the 2 piece implant as I’ve had a double transplant kidney and pancreas .. he said there’s a higher possibility of me having an infection and ending up back on dialysis and diabetic again …
My questions to him was …what am I loosing not having a three piece ? his answer was you will be slightly softer but not a great deal and said that the normal penile slight loss was the same with both implants he said he could achieve the same girth but in his career he said he achieved a bigger girth with the 2 piece on occasions ..I would love to hear patients experience with a 2 piece .. can you use it as you did before Ed started ?
Did you lose any sensation.? Just generally are you happy with the implant

Hey Darren.. Have you had any luck in getting any answers about the 2 piece ambicor. I am in the same boat and would like some first hand knowledge of guys who have had this implant. It seems that most have gone with the 3 piece system. If you find out anything outside of this forum please share

Since there are no (active) 2-piece implant members on this forum to respond, I think the best way is to search and PM them. They could be away from FT for a while, but a PM may pop up in the email (if set to), and you may probably get replies.

Actually, I HAD the 2 piece, but then had it taken out (I thought they were going to do for free, lol) because it was driving me batty, but let me explain.
When I got the 2 piece, healing was quick! I was able to use the 2 piece within a couple of weeks, it was that quick since your scrotum was not in the picture...well, mine was, sort of, as they had to take out the bulb from the 3 piece that was in there.
Alas, it was driving me crazy because of my size.
The 2 piece system, all you do is lift it up to use, and put it down to put away, there is no in between. ONE size!
Often, my glans would become engorged while in my pants, going about my business. No sexual intentions, no sexual thoughts...mostly at work!
But what really did it for me was when I was driving, got engorged, hurt like a MF! Had my friend take over the wheel while I unzipped and let Fred 2.0 out. Zipped back up when we got to friend's place.

Did you have the mailable implant ?
The 2 piece I’m having implanted has a pump in the scrotum which needs to be pumped around 5-6 times to get an erection
I won’t have a fluid resivoir in my abdomen

My mistake. When you said 2 piece, my mind went automatically to the malleable. Not sure what the ambicor looks like, but I would go with what the Dr.recommends for your situation. You can ask questions, but I would make them more along the lines of what to expect in recovery....well, size and girth too, lol, after all, we are men!
Don't think anyone on here has the ambicor, but do a search on it in FT (box, upper rt. corner, just type in ambicor). 2 piece would bring my journal up, so that word is too general.

Hi thanks for the reply tho I hope your happy with your implant after all everyone is different and at the end of the day if we are happy then that’s all that matters … I will check on here if any other users has had the ambicor

Yes. The 2-piece is different than the malleable.
As I know, the 2-piece is also an inflatable implant. However, without a reservoir, the saline is permanent in the cylinders. I am not sure how the pumping process work here, as AMS website says that erection can be reached with a few pumps only. The rigidity is not matched with the 3-piece due to less pumping, but it is enough for penetrative sex.
A good question to your surgeon or AMS representative is where does the saline go when you deflate? The pump and tubing are too small to take the fluid. If this is the case, then the pump should go flat when erection happens.
