AMS implant

Postby Bobsbug4 » Sun Jul 11, 2021 9:12 pm

I had a AMS 700cx implanted on 7/1/21. I’m a little disappointed. I had Peyronies with a 40 degree bend and was told I had to go with a 15cm with a 3cm top extender. My penis seems a lot shorter than normal. After one week my Doctor told me I could inflate and deflate. My corpora measured 18cm before the implant. Does anyone know if my penis will get larger after time? Also it is painful to inflate. Deflating seems difficult and I don’t know how hard I should squeeze my penis to make sure the fluid goes back to the reservoir. It always seems semi erect. Is this normal
68 years old. Have had ED for about 30 years. Tried all the pills successful for a while had to move on to injections, developed bad peyronies. Implant on 7/1/21. Hoping for success

Short answer, yes it should. Longer answer, your penis will retract due to its sense of an injury. Swelling in your pubic pad also makes you look short. I had a partial circumcisions in 2013. Learned this without any warning. I understand your surprise.
Many men report length gains up to one year of cycling their implant per doctors orders. Best advice is to make it your most important job to heal & cycle on a regular basis.
Failure to cycle runs the risk of scar tissue encapsulating the cylinders & making length recovery slow or difficult.
I think the slight chub goes with the stiffer implant material of the Titans & to a lesser degree the CX's. The implant should soften up as time goes forward.
Good luck.

Who was your surgeon and how did you choose him?
Did he measure your penis before the operation/

If you were really 18cm in length and your device is only 18cm in length then it sounds like you were undersized.

Hey Bobsbug4,

I was implanted on 4/12 with an AMS CX (24 cm + 2 cm RTEs). I had a problem with blood thinners that delayed my initial inflate/deflate for over a month. When I was given the go ahead, I was 5.5+ x about 6. I'm now about 6.25 x 6+. I consider measuring is an art and I'm a terrible record keeper. I'm aiming at 7 (18 cm) + x 6.5 (16.5 cm) over the next year or so. 8 x 6.5 would be really great! I didn't have to deal with PD, only ED.

I don't have any pain pumping to the max (100-140 pumps). For sex, I pump 50-80 times.
However, after an hour, my penis becomes uncomfortable. I cycle two times a day for an hour or so. I wear a jockstrap to hold my penis pointing up. That adds to the discomfort. When I deflate, I try to make my penis as flaccid as possible. Deflating is more difficult than inflating. However, I had a serious turtling problem before the implant and that is gone. I went from a grower (before ED I was 8 x 6.25) to a shower (I hang 4-5 now vs 1-2 before implant). I'm really happy about that!

Be patient and persistent...that's what guys, my doc, and my AMS rep keep telling me. So far, their advice had been good.

Bobsbug4 has only been a member for two days. I'd be surprised if he has had time to read enough to be well versed in the fine points of selecting a surgeon. Yet alone to know if he was sized properly. You notice that he refers to RTE's as top extenders.
To me, it sounds like 18 might of been his length & his crus depth.
The sad part is it doesn't sound like his surgeon educated him very much.

Kinda wish I’d never gone through this implant procedure. I’m livery depressed about it now. Cycle is painful. I’m really not sure what I’m supposed to expect.

Welcome to the forum, Bobsbug4. Sorry to hear of your disappointment.

Many men have a period of doubt after the procedure. It hurts. It looks like the promise of surgery is not being fulfilled. You wonder if it was worth it (or will be worth it) and it is hard to look beyond your pain and swelling to a rosier future outcome.

Let me assure you that the vast majority of men pass through the miserable corridor that is the post-op journey and in a few weeks or couple months wonder why they did not have the surgery earlier.

For myself, I spent a GREAT deal of effort researching implants and choosing my surgeon. Armed with that knowledge, I never had an instant of regret, even on my most painful days. So, take solace in the adage, "This too, shall pass."

Knowledge dispels fear, doubt and depression. Take whatever time you have and continue reading here and know that medical science has done a pretty good job of fixing ED and you, too will get through this and be the happier for it.

Send me a private message if you like. I am here to help.

I mean really. It has what been about 2 weeks. You are not even close to even healing yet. If you are cycling per doctors orders. Ok. At 2 weeks your dick is still swollen inside from trauma.

You should spend some time reading posts. Most who were negative at the beginning ate a lot of crow and said they should not have been so negative.

This is a long process. It takes months and for some longer to get back to pre ed size. It took me 10 months of cycling about 2 hours a day.

So, heal. Then cycle at least 2x a day for 30 minutes to an hour each. If your tips are well up in your glans, probably you were sized right.

Basically patience. Why would you be negative. When you heal. Tips are well in glans when pumped. You will have a hard dick. It just takes time. This is a long game. If after 6 months of cycling, your tips are below your glans. You might have an issue. It takes that long for cylinders to soften up to get benefit of cycling.

Give it time.
18 cm plus 1 rte titan installed March 2019. Revision March 2020 by Dr. Andrew Todd, Richmond KY. He replaced the titan with an AMS 700 LGX 18 cm cylinder plus 2 rte for 20 cm total length.
