Question for guys with the AMS700

Postby Macdawgg » Mon Jul 05, 2021 4:42 pm

Hi guys-New to the forum and so glad I came across it. I had the AMS700 implant done around the third week of March of this year, After fully recovery everything seems ok but last thursday(7/1) I noticed my scrotum seems to be larger and I notice I have trouble finding the bulb. There seems to be this mass around the bulb. I'm thinking it may have gotten tangled but not sure. So my question is has anyone had this happened and needed a revision? and if so what exactly was involved? Was it as painful as the first operation? I have an appt with my urologist next tues but wanted to get some input before then.

I haven't had the feeling of my pump being inside a mass, or encapsulated, but for the first 8 weeks or so, it stay tucked away up high, and in back of my scrotum. Now, it just moves around wherever it wants to go. The more relaxed my sac is, the more it seems to relocate itself, sometimes even turned around backwards, or upside down. I have had no trouble moving it around to inflate/deflate. Many of us encounter different situations as we heal and our bodies become accustomed to being invaded by all this equipment. This may just be part of your healing process, but don't take chances, and see your urologist as you plan. But don't make the leap to a revision without a exam consult with your doctor. Good luck.

I can clearly feel my bulb and valve block through my thin scrotum skin. I can also feel the tubing as it winds around to its destination. You need to see your doc.

Thanks for the input guys, Got a call from the local patient liason and she said is sounds like I may need the revision but to see the doctor for sure. I'm not in any pain just feel this mass around my pump and I can barely touch the bulb but I'll let you guys know what my doctor finds.

I definitely had a mass (two, in fact) in my left scrotum. Mine was due to hematomas. My blood clots fine, it just doesn't unclot properly. My surgeon told me not to take blood thinners, my PCP wanted me back on them. My PCP won. All is fine now. Even if you aren't on blood thinners, check with your doc! Those masses are not necessarily normal.

Macdawg. Don’t miss that opt. W your Doc, that’s one way a infection can sneak in and hides around the pump. Im 2 for 2 infections, read Stevesw Comment that is perfect, ie how it should be in your nuts.
