The Longest An Implant Has Lasted

Postby Vagabond127 » Thu Feb 11, 2021 5:26 pm

I'm trying to get a feel for the high end of years anybody has had their original implant for. For example, has anyone not needed a revision even after having their implant for say 15+ years?

Check out this study:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31501062/

It was published in 2019 and was a follow-up study based on patients implanted around the 2001 timeframe (with obviously older and less improved devices than what we have now). Based on their data, they estimate a 53% implant survival rate at the 20 year mark.
Early 30s with ED from jelqing. Implant by Dr Eid on 24 June 2021 with a Titan 24cm with +1cm RTE on one side and -1cm cut off on the other side

Aug 2024 revision to AMS CX 24cm + 2rte

It’s not entirely a surprise.

This site self selects for men who are interested in getting their first implant or get their implant replaced. I’ll bet we don’t hear as much from men who got implanted and then it just continued to work without issue for years and years.

Thanks guys! That's good news. At 52 years old maybe I won't need a replacement until 72 :D

That is actually pretty incredible that you have a 50% chance of going 20 years.

Dr Tatem has said that of all prosthetic devices used, penile implants have the longest life before replacement.
