old man with ED seeking answer

Postby jayman75 » Mon Jan 04, 2021 12:05 pm

Hello,

I've been searching and reading for basics of using a pump. I'm 75 yr old and I just can't get hard, even with visual, self manual stimulation, including oral provided by a willing young lady. I am unable to get hard enough for penetration. Fortunately, I can climax with oral, but I want very badly to penetrate and have purchased a pump.

I'm looking for some beginer basics. My first attempt at using the pump, it did not maintain. I understand I need a ring to make it last. I tried a combination ring, but couldn't get the back part over my balls. (they are large).

When I get a single ring to replace the combo, when do I put it on? (before or after pumping). Also should make sure I am stimulated before I pump and or put the ring on?

Although embarased at this, my penis isn't that large (length or girth) . (compared to my balls, when flacid, my ppenis is barely visible. Is there a particular size ring I should get?

Hello. In my days of ED I tried a pump with little result. Think I may have been able to have penetrative sex once with it. I always put the ring on first then pumped up as much as I could tolerate, rest a bit then pump more. Pumped and rested several times until my erection felt good. Usually as soon as I released the pressure and pulled out of the pump my erection would decrease 30-50%.
One drawback to using a pump is you have to use lube, and don't think anyone wants to do oral on a lubed up penis.
As far as ring sizes one that's too tight will hurt before long, a loose fit will not work. It may take several trials to find the right size that works. I liked one that had two rings, a smaller one on the penis and a larger one went around your sack.
To add one more thought; the pumps you buy on eBay or Amazon are toys basically. To achieve the best results you need a medical grade pump, and they aren't cheap.

Just 2¢...I have used coconut oil almost 90% of the time for everything PE that doesn't require a water-based lube. I love it...my wife has no problem with it. (We use it in cooking a lot of the time.)

Something I forgot to add. I've been taking Finasteride for prostate for a couple years. Has anyone else had taken this? I understand E.D is common with it. I'm not taking for hair loss cause I have plenty. Rather it's for prostate.

Speaking of viagra, etc, I take Losartn for high BP. It's not real high (150/90). Losartin brings it down to about 130/70. Because of warnings, etc, I have not wanted to do this. Am I wrong in this assumption?

Natural reaction: It tries to come up. I would say maybe 25% from completly flacid. Attempts a penetration and frustration cause me to loose even the 25%

Pump: Novelty, bought on Amazon. It does appear to work (in a self test mode without a partner) but won't maintain)

Ring: yes, it was probably novelty, slicone type rubbeer, also bought on Amazon. It had two sectios. One ring to go over complete sack and another on the shaft. My balls are very big (Urologist tells me it's "hydrocel" retaining water). I'm considering minor surgery in the future. I could not get the larger ring over my boys, even one at a time as dirctions indicated.

Thanks for the advice. My learing curve has just begun. Going back a couple years in a different partner, there were some early indications of it not getting hard as it was even five years ago. However, I could achieve penetration. Once pentrated, sensations, stimulation greatly helped, even made it harder until I climaxed.

As for the pump leaking, I haven't seen that. It has a rubber membrane with a small hole that fits over the tube. The hole is only abouy 1/2". I'm not hard enough to push (penetrate) the hole. However, i put lube on menbrane aound and place the end of my dick against the hole. When I begin to pump, it pulls me in completely (about 2" flacid. From there, continued pumping bringss it up over 5". It doesn't hurt and maybe i can go further but i'm being cautious.

I don't have another ring other than the one with two parts so i cut the smaller ring off. Experimenting with this ring, I can not get it on. It won't push on and I can't see using a pair or plyers to pull it through. With lube, it seems like it would go on but but it's too slippery to do it with my hands. I'm thinking with oral stimulation to achieve 25% and then my partner's much smaller hands, lube and a better angle, the ring might go on all the way. From there, using the pump, if i can get 5" and it lasts long enough to go inside her, I think I would be happy.

However, I do see how some sort of sleeve would be helpful. Does anyone sell just a sleeve? such a novelty sources? For now, I'm continuing to learn and not ready to invest in a medical grade pump.

My next actual real life (with partner) encounter will be this weekend.

Yes, finasteride can absolutely cause ED. It also changes the morphology of the penis, specially at doses needed for BPH.

Is there any indication that ceasing to take Finasteride can lessen the effect? Stoppiong for a week, a month or many months? Or are the effect permanent?

I believe there is indication that after sometime some things can go back to normal, but it depends.

"How the corpus cavernosum reacts after discontinuing treatment with dutasteride or finasteride is unknown. It is also not clear if a completely normal penile architecture can be achieved after the washout period. In addition, it is not known how long it takes to restore normal morphology. Thus, future studies are warranted to evaluate the corpus cavernosum after discontinuing treatment with 5AR inhibitors."

I would say that vacuum therapy and possibly traction therapy can also help revert changes, along with daily Cialis.

I found Bystolic works for blood pressure AND doesn't cause ED (for me, I assume others.) Downside, it's expensive.I take half a tablet daily with approval from cardiologist.

It made a huge difference for me.
