Re: Pump?
A couple of years ago, many surgeons (I guess, probably all) disapproved of Vacuum Erection Devices (VED) after implantation. Many did not believe in their benefits even BEFORE surgery. But a couple of studies showed benefits.
Now, many patients and some surgeons believe VEDs can help after surgery.
Granted, there are more dangers to a VED after surgery and the protocols (how you use VEDs) for use on an implanted person are more involved. And I don't believe all the processes are completely sorted out yet. We are venturing into unexplored territory here. (Much as the territory of implants was unexplored in 1952 and heart transplants in 1967.)
It is clear, however, that for some men, some penises, some implants, depending on a number of factors, that vacuum applied to an implanted penis has benefits.
Speculation about what benefits?
Enhancing what size increase an implant might bring forth.
Reducing cycling discomfort/pain
Dangers
Opening the surgical incision (either surface or, worse, internally) if done too early or too vigorously
The surgeon who did the implant, having seen the insides of your penis and the conditions of your tissues, locations of incisions and potential weakened spots, is in the best position to make recommendations about whether to, how to, how extensively to and when to apply vacuum to your implanted penis.

Re: Pump?
My AMS DVD make reference to using a VED in the cycling section saying some doctors make recommend it. When I contacted a well know Atlanta doctor about my problems with my LGX he recommended VED with my LGX. He dose mostly Coloplast but also will do AMS. And I have a seen a well known Florida Doctor that had a video and said he did a paper on VED use post op with IPP. He does only Coloplast and I have not found the paper yet. So I have no proto call to provide. If anyone finds it please post. My surgeon when I talked to him almost 3 years ago advised VED use before or after would make no difference. I think he was wrong as even at that time a paper was out showing preop use of VED can help with regaining lost size.
This is not about enlargement. It is only to help regain size that was lost.

Re: Pump?
I cycle my LGX for an hour every day. After 7-1/2 months, it has stretched my penile length beyond my pre-surgical measurement and I'm close to maxing out. Wouldn't using a VED do the same thing as cycling to achieve the best result?
Implanted 5/6/20 by Dr. Jesse Mills at UCLA; AMS 700 LGX 18 cm w/2 cm RTEs. I'm 76 & fit but had ED for 20 years. Pills/injections ultimately failed, including 3 ER trips for Priapism; Shockwave & embryonic stem cell therapies didn't help either.

Re: Pump?
Having read post by others and study's of gains of lost size over one year after and reading the study I posted it seems to indicate that early VED use is not only faster to regain but better preventing nonrecoverable loss. This is done by infrapubic incision that not only permits earlier cycling but earlier use of VED over penoscrotal. I do know that around the 7.5 month you mentioned I did level out for a while but then just before and after the 1 year mark I did have more gains. I used only max long cycling with adding pumps.
In the study above all men were implanted with the AMS LGX and had infrapubic incision. This is copied from that study.
"After discharge patients were taught how to activate and
deactivate the device at a median of 8 (range 5–12) days
following surgery. They were encouraged to cycle it twice
daily 10–15 min per day. Starting 3 weeks after discharge,
patients were asked to use a vacuum device for a 12-week
period (Medis®, Vacuum Therapy Devices, Milan, Italy and
Osbon ErecAid®, Vacuum Therapy System, Collierville,
TN, USA) without the constriction ring for 5 min twice
daily after full device inflation was achieved."
I had penoscrotal incision and Scrotoplasty so while I was cycling at 3 weeks VED use could have created problems and infection at my incision site. I am not sure how later VED use would fair after the penoscrotal incision heals. Nor how much early activation "median of 8 (range 5–12) days following surgery." contributed to regaining lost size.
That all being said I would think VED use with penoscrotal incision should be delayed until fully healed or cleared to do so by your doctor. But I am not a doctor and this is just my understanding of what I read. But I would not want to chance infection.
And it is possible that early activation and longer cycling after fully healed would also return lost size but there was no 2nd group studied for this.
