So last week my local urologist did a doppler ultrasound.
Said I have terrible blood flow due to my past uncontrolled diabetes, plus some leakage.
He said my only option was probably an implant, which I was already expecting.
His office started the process of submitting it to my insurance company.
Questions
My insurance company told me it does not cover sexual dysfunction, but the doctor made it sound like it was no big deal and it would be covered.
Anyone know how thats possible?
Plus how long does it take to get insurance approval or denial?
Thanks

Re: Questions
Insurance companies are all different, save one area. They're in it to make $$.

Re: Questions
Drs150. A couple of points to consider. The key to getting coverage approved is what codes your doctor puts on the application. This is another reason to choose a surgeon that does a decent number of implants per year. His staff knows how to code it for success.
Hopefully you are consulting with an experience surgeon. Be wary if he uses vague phrases like several or quite a few. I think most surgeons have to report how many procedures they perform to their mal practice insurance company to determine their premium. He should know how many he did last year pretty close.
Also, to some doctors. Success is you getting an erection, even if it is short. Have a long talk with him about what his goals for YOU are.
