New to VED - Can't figure it out

Postby dgold21 » Sat Nov 07, 2020 11:42 am

I'm about three months removed from HDR Brachytherapy for prostate cancer and now have total ED. Research has told me I need to be getting oxygenated blood into my penis regularly, and I am trying to start that process. I've used injections, and they work, but right now it is painful, I think some fibrosis has already started to set in from lack of nightly erections for three months, a little loss in size too.

I bought a Vacurect manual device, and have tried it twice, and not having much luck. There is some slight increase in blood into it, but nowhere near anything that could be called an erection. It said to start with the largest of the "tension rings" and maybe I should move to a smaller one. Any tips or insight about this kind of device would be appreciated.
HIFU procedure for prostate cancer (Gleason 4+3) late 2018. Recurrence 2020, HDR Brachytherapy. Nerves spared but traumatized. Tried all PDE5i meds, hit and miss. First trimix inj Feb 2019. 30/1/25. Total ED as of late 2020

In my opinion, a medical type VED is good for generating and maintain an erection for intercourse. However, for therapy, a “sex shop” pump system with a vacuum gauge will serve you bettor for increasing blood flow into your dick.

LeLuv offers a decent system on Amazon for about $80. The vacuum gauge allows you to maintain and monitor safe vacuum levels below 5 - hg (inches of Mercury) and perform pulse pumping - alternating between 5 hg and 3 hg to replicate the process your dick goes through naturally during rem sleep at night.

Don't use the constriction ring at all. Just use the vacuum to get the blood in there, release the vacuum after a minute or two and repeat for a half hour.

The constriction ring does NOT promote blood exchange. It holds it in the penis doing no good for that. Rings are for sex.

You also may be looking at things the wrong way.
There is 'Therapy' using the VED, and that does not involve any sexual thoughts, etc., just gotta do it. Then there is horny 'Therapy', which involves some prep (porn or your partner).
Either one you chose to do has its place, you decide.
As LS pointed out, the rings keep the blood in your dick, which you don't want to do. If you want to feed a fresh supply of blood that circulates...NO RINGS!
The only difference I see between a medical grade VED vs. something you can get at an adult bookstore is $$$ and the gauge the comes with it.
Since you are just starting out, and you already got the medical grade, read around FT and find out what other guys have done with their VED.
Use according to what you feel comfortable when you pump (the VED sucks). Start small and move on from there.

I got a VED from some adult bookstore. It is rechargeable, no rings, but it has a guage. I use it because it helps in the mysterious pangs department, and 'Therapy', at times.
I don't even use the gauge only because I am still feeling my way around my surgery. I put it on, pump, and when I feel it is enough. pull back.

Most of the sex shop pumps I have seen or used are next to impossible to use with rings. I have had some success putting a ring on first then pumping with a cheaper pump, but when it comes to sex I much prefer not to fiddle around and just get it up as expeditiously as possible so the main act can start.

With a medical grade pump you can use it with rings for sex and use it for therapy.
Married 50+ years. Use VED for sex and do
daily exercises with both water and vacuum pumps.
