My implant surgery was one week ago today. I thought I would share some of my experiences during the first week.
Surgery went smoothly. Honestly, when I was laying in the bed in same day, I was struggling to believe it was actually going to happen. It felt like many things, such as COVID-19, problematic EKG reading, etc. could have derailed the surgery.
My doctor's protocol is for patients to spend a night on med surg after the surgery. That went pretty well. This was my first surgery ever, so the removal of the catheter and drain were both shocking moments. Ouch!
At home for the past several days has been a bit of a roller coaster. My pain increased as expected, but not enough to warrant the heavy-duty pain med. Last night, I made it 12 hours without needing Tylenol, so that was good. The constipation has been a bit of a challenge to manage. And urinating is still an adventure.
Another protocol is for me to be 60% inflated for two weeks and positioned straight up against my belly, held in place with a jock strap. I'm beginning to decrease the amount of gauze bandages used as padding under the jock strap.
I took my first shower two days ago. What a relief to be free and have hot water soothing my penis and scrotum. I've mostly had bruising on the left side of my scrotum.
I've been taking longer walks, and I'm able to walk at close to a normal pace, which is fast compared to most people. Driving and shifting in my pickup truck, standing in one spot for any length of time, and sitting on a hard chair all still cause more pain at this point.
Overall, I'm really happy with how I look and feel. My incision seems to be healing well, and if I look and feel this hard at 60% inflated, I'm really looking forward to how I will look and feel at 90-100% inflated.
I want to thank everyone on Frank Talk for your various posts. You helped me a lot. I'm happy to answer any questions you guys may have as well as I can given my experiences.

Happy to hear you're through the surgery and doing well! That catheter removal was honestly the worst part of the entire ordeal for me...felt like someone was pulling my soul out through my dick!
As far as pain goes, my doc noted that acetaminophen can be taken alongside ibuprofen, where acetaminophen works directly on the pain, and ibuprofen fights inflammation that contributes to pain. If you decide to combine them, stick with the OTC medication doses and timing for each. Of course, if you take OTC acetaminophen, you should definitely not take any of the heavy duty meds, which almost always have acetaminophen as an ingredient (dangerous to go over dose with acetaminophen). I'm not a doc, of course, so you might want to call up yours to confirm what pain meds you can use.
Either way, I'm sure things will get much better soon! I'm at 2 months now, and I've been using the device regularly for weeks and it does exactly what it is supposed to!
If you plan to post more here, I'd suggest adding a signature on your profile with some details about yourself and your implant. Keeps folks from having to ask what model you've got, etc, if you have questions you want answered.
Take care, and happy healing!

Man i just had surgery last Wednesday the 28th. Same exact as you. 1st surgery, and holy $hit the cathetor! After they took it out I couldn't pee and they had to donanother "in and out cathetor" that still haunts me! Ive been on high s and lows also and same thing, standing after about 5 makes pain go up drastically.
My doctor said to let my Coloplast 21cm be at about 30% and after my 1st week, start to pump a little and deflate a little. I also asked about pointing up and he said to not worry about that either. I used Dr. KOVAC in Indianapolis, IN. He is super cool and anything i need or ask he is on it.
I still havent went to restroom and am super scared as i feel like there is tons of poison in my body I want to get rid of , but also scared to strain.
I cant wait to also start using this bad boy!

DO NOT strain to move your bowels! You don't any stitches to let go. If you MUST, take an enema. I made sure I had taken stool softeners before surgery and continuing afterwards. Also, plenty of fibrous foods before the surgery and nothing that binds me up. Too late for most of that advice to be of use for you, but others will read this.

but also be aware, LAXATIVES may cause cramping and urgency so they will cause you more discomfort. If you use an enema, only use warm water in an anal douche bulb if possible. NOT HOT WATER, and not cold water. Cold water can cause cramping but slightly warm water (almost bath warm) will be about right and will cause no cramping.
Do not use prepared enemas such as Fleet. They cause cramping and urgency too because they are saline laxatives. If you can only buy a fleet enema, open it and pour out the liquid, then refill with "baby-bottle" warm water for the enema.

Re: Day 8 Post-Op Report
So, I definitely did not strain when having bowel movements, so the first two times were slow.
And then the combination of prescribed laxative and milk of magnesia kicked in, and I went way the other way.
