The post about pre-approval got me wondering about people's experiences with health insurance coverage. I work for the Gov't and my insurance is through GEHA...basically just a fancy way of saying my coverage is through United Healthcare. The other day we got a postcard telling us that in 2021, GEHA's coverage was going to switch from United to Aetna. Working for the Gov't we get open season every November so I can change insurance plans, but then you're stuck with it until the next open season.
I'd be interested to see what kind of experiences people have had with getting implants covered by their health insurance. Does it seem like there are companies that are better or are there some that should be avoided?

I've spoken to a lot of people about this, even the ones at Boston Science who deal with this.
Its less about the actually insurance company, and more about the specific plan you are on. If you plan covers the "sexual dysfunction" rider, then you are good. If it does not, then you are not good.

BCBS govt retiree. No issues at all for titan implant, or its removal and putting ams back in.

My best suggestion is to get a hold of your doctors insurance person. Give them the plans that you can choose from. Let them tell you who is either the best paying or easiest to deal with. They should know. They deal with the companies frequently. Anything else might just boil down to an opinion.
