Keep in mind you guys who are considering implant that my case is rare. I've won the unlucky lottery! Ha
Last month I saw Dr Carrion in Tampa. He saw that my left and right cylinder tips were both inside of the right corpora and sent me for a CT scan. I went home forced the tips back into their correct place inflated for several days and had the scan done fully while fully inflated. Got the results which said patient has an inflatable implant fully extended and in the appropriate position. Good news right? Wrong. Went to Tampa yesterday. What the radiologist failed to mention is that both cylinders when fully inflated are deformed. The right side is constantly pressing against the urethra especially when inflated. I am setting up yet another cysto to view the damage. I told my uro about this problem on day 7 and he said the bleeding was probably from the catheter don't worry about it. Saw him again on day 14 said to keep it taped straight see you for 6 week cycle.
Had I simply followed instructions and done nothing the tip would have come through before my appt. I began using VED to relieve pressure though that was hard because of pump misplacement. VED saved me by taking the pressure off of the cylinders. Apparently it was still too little too late,
1. The cylinders are warped and even if I VED stretch to 6 7/8 inches that may not be enough to fix the damage.
2. Even if I make the cylinders safe to use the right side is still about 3mm off and no way to fix that.
3. Because of the uneven cylinder tips I now have a Peyronies curve, The left side of my shaft has shrunken shorter than the right.
Both of these surgeons Kata and Carrion want to slice and dice me ASAP. Kata was suggesting a slit on the right side to shorten it. I pointed out that he can't cut the tip shorter can't cut the rte shorter, don't make an rte the size I need and he can't change the 1 cm rte for a .5 rte without creating the same problem for the left side so what's the point. No answer. I have asked Dr Carrion to consider leaving the left cylinder alone, and replacing the right with the same size after he dilates the right side downward into the crus. This is a non standard procedure because he will likely need to go beyond the crus and into muscle or skin. No answer until after the cysto results. Even with that my new peyronies may still make me crooked but at least I will be safe.
I plan on letting Dr Kata move my pump in Dec. Have told Dr Carrion that I can't afford to go the other until June of next year. If I can fix this enough using VED before then making it safe I will not replace the cylinder. So new CT about April of next year.
Guys, when I agreed to an implant I did not sign up for this grief. Cannot believe that my surgeon blamed the curve on my body, the corporas were uneven and the pump I was left handed. Nothing was his fault.
Really?

It almost sounds like you need a do-over maybe with a slightly bigger implant... maybe not but it doesn't sound like they can fix the one you have..

Re: CT Horror
I understand your surgery was botched. It seems like now you are trying to tell a renowned surgeon what to do and are planning 2 separate surgeries with 2 different surgeons to fix what the first one did wrong. I know it’s tough but why not relax, keep getting opinions, save your money and go with one surgeon to fix everything at once. Involving 2 more surgeons to fix a mess another surgeon caused is likely to cause even more problems imho. Good luck I hope things turn out great.
Re: CT Horror
I hate hearing things like this when getting ready for the procedure from my urologist whom I don't know how good he is.
I know my guy isn't high volume, but he sounds reassuring.
On a side note, does the insertion from the top always cause tubing to be a problem?
Sounds like it is easier to insert the reservoir from the top, but easier to place the pump from below.
What's best if anyone has an idea?

If I had to do it again, would go scrotal. I was researching going to dr eid but was checking out local uros in case I experienced a problem. The uro I went to had 30 yrs experience and talked a good game. Only problem he did infra pubic. What the hell. I went with him. I griped a lot here because this guys system was to pump me 80 to 90% hard for 4weeks. ++++ pain for 4 weeks. I thought the reservoir had moved but found I have an ilengel hernia. The tubes enter the cylinders from the top then circle back down to the pump which is under. Just does not make sense. Tubes can be lived with but a little uncomfortable. If I was mashing pubic bones with a real hot chick, it may be a problem, especially if she was pounding in return. Just my 2 cents.
83, good health, RP 7-2017, all nerves taken , PSA 0.05in 2025,, implanted 4-1-18, Infra-pubic, AMS lgx 15 cm with 5cm rte. Implant at USC Keck. Dr Boyd and Dr Loh Doyle 6.5 x 5, 800 AUS 7-21-20 at Keck

I think that you were wronged. I also think that your micro management is also a problem. If you feel that your in a position that you need to tell Experienced doctors like the names you are now mentioning what to do then there may not be a happy ending for you , I can only wish that after all that you have been through you will put your faith and trust in a reputable surgeon and follow his protocol. Also find a good malpractice attorney and have a consultation the two idiots that did your original surgery do need to be put on notice.
Best of luck going forward

Re: CT Horror
Thanks guys for your input. Let me stress again for you who are about to have implant surgery my case is very rare. I think only one other guy in this group has talked about it. Maybe 2. Your surgeon should not need to be skilled for it. You can ask him to partially dilate toward the crus until he measures both sides. That will prevent it.
This PM took a hot bath deflated and VED to see where I was at. Well my pump is failing fast could only get 6.25 but with that I'm almost straight would not notice it in the locker room. But my shaft pressed hard against the cylinder except for about 3/4" near the base right side. The cylinder is still very bent even at that length. My uro sized me very well did a great job on that. Too bad. Looks like I will run out of penis before I escape the right tip. The cysto is my last hope of fixing this without major surgery. If no fresh damage shows then I am home free with daily VED for the rest of my life. Fun fun.
Guys I researched this for 4 years before implant. There is currently no cure for this mistake. Both Kata and Carrion have told me that they cannot promise a good outcome but would try to make it better. Why would anyone in their right mind think that is OK????? Hell no!
I only consented to implant because I was given an absolute assurance that both tips would be even. Nothing has changed. Why would I now accept any less? At least these guys are not lying to me. and they are absolutely right. My best hope from them is a shitty outcome.
I have no way to tell if the 3mm I am suggesting to Dr Carrion is even close. And he has no way to know either even during the surgery unless he takes out both sides. And then he will discover that yep I'm screwed. Until AMS makes a .6 .7 .8 .9 cm rte I am royally screwed. Haven't contacted them yet to see. If they will make 2 sets for me then I will have both cylinders replaced by Kata in June of next year. Carrion is still hell bent on splitting open my penis to rebuild my corporas. Well maybe during my autopsy but not a second before. I think he and I are pretty much done. One more trip to Tampa and that's it too far anyway. I do owe him a huge thank you for showing me my problem. I would never have dreamed that such a thing was possible/ Now it is fixed enough until healing seals off the 2 chambers again. 6 other uros missed it took him what ten seconds? He knows his stuff and still can give me no guarantee of success. That tells me what I need to know. But I cannot trust that he won't go wild while I am under and then I'll wake up to a nightmare like Larry went through. No way I will take the damn things out first. Take that one to the bank!
