Did/Do any of you experience long-term pain (> week or more) upon placement of the pump? Ever since my implant, I've had a burning sensation where my pump sits in my scrotum.
I was worried that this was a harbinger of the start of erosion of the pump through the scrotal sack, but after my doctor examined me he said I'm perfect. His explanation was that it is an inflammatory response, and should rectify itself. He asked me to be patient until 9/6 (my cycling appointment), and if I still have a burning sensation then, He'll pull out the big guns. He said NSAIDS would help, but with only one kidney I am not real enthusiastic about ibuprofen or naproxen or aspirin.
Am I worrying needlessly?
BTW, One half month with the implant so far. No more bruising, no more swelling, and I definitely lost the turtle head I walked in with. I can only imagine what this guy will look like when my doc smashes both thumbs on the pump and wakes it up.

Re: Burning sensation with pump placement
My biggest issue for the first two weeks was burning like there was alcohol on my scrotum. At three weeks I still have it at times but greatly reduced.
I wonder if Aspercreme which absorbs to the site would help. It has DMSO to help transport it into the tissue. Voltaren is a prescription topical NSAID. The side effects are the same as an oral NSAID but I would think local delivery would have to minimize the load on kidneys etc. Ask your doctor about it rather than just trying it.
I also found that heat helped.

Not a problem ! Burning in the scrotum skin, where the pump is located, its normal. Nothing erosion..

Btw, I never even heard of a pump eroding the scrotum, so that clearly is not happening.

My scrotum burns for hours after I pump it up. Sometimes it will even bruise from a pumping. One of the most tender parts of the body and we treat it like closing the kitchen drawer on it 30 times in a row.

Are you saying that even after years you burn after pumping ??? I am already seeing lots of improvement after 23 days.

Re: Burning sensation with pump placement
If I pump it up too often especially, it feels like a slight rug burn or if your jeans seam rubs on the sack and makes it sore. Last implant was the same way but it actually was a problem rubbing on my clothing in addition. I keep waiting for it to go away but it only does when I do not pump it for a couple days which is rare like the last few. I cranked that baby up today and it has a burn to it now. By morning it will be gone. Cheers.

Re: Burning sensation with pump placement
Thanks to all of you for the positive thoughts. I think I'll just gut this out and know it will go away in the short term. My groin is already starting to clear up (and not look so much like it just got into a bar fight). I am hoping that it will take this pain with it. He did clear hot baths for me so I think I'll start doing that.
Thanks again!
