Very happy. 9/10. Gets better every week. Things are still dealing and I'm about to be at the 6 month mark. It's subtle things. In the first few months I had a really difficult time wearing jeans because the material is so stiff and would rub against me uncomfortably. Now, it's basically no issue. Maybe has something to do with the nerve regeneration around the subcoronal incision. It's amazing to feel that I have my life back.
I have a real sex life again. For the first time since age 20. And no pumps, no tubes, no reservoir to worry about. I'm ready all the time and it's given me so much confidence. It's easy to conceal. I don't have any problems in public. Basically everything is great. I almost can't believe it.
I'm still on my antidepressant but I think that's because I'm just genetically predisposed to that. For the record, I love Wellbutrin. Gives you drive if you don't have it because of depression. Makes it easier to enjoy life and not hate yourself, if you're deficient in dopamine like me (and my Russian bloodline). But — the implant fixed one of the biggest things in my life that was causing even more depression on top of what I'd have simply as a result of having my genes.
I wish I did it sooner, because if I did it years ago it might have been fully covered by my insurance at the time. I paid out of pocket. No regrets. But if I ever need a revision (knock on wood) I'm going to make sure that it's at least partly covered by my insurance plan.

Re: Are you happy with your implant?
There are plusses and minuses to everything in this world, and the thing about implants is that this is even more pronounced since, as guys, they have a huge impact on our sexuality. For me, I'm thrilled to be functional again (thank you Cancer and RP), but there are a lot of little issues that nag me. The pump is in my testicle sack - and I like to keep that shaved. This presents a problem in that I have to be SUPER careful in shaving since the pump is not soft, nor rounded. So thats a negative. When soft, even with the CX I can get some dog earing which is slightly uncomfortable and annoying. Its not BAD - but the annoyance is there. I did experience size loss but that had more to do with the cancer and subsequent Peyrones Disease than the implant itself...my by annoyance persists and my brain knows its not the implants fault - but --- still. Lastly, its not my real dick in the sense that erections CAN happen - but its not me doing it aside from pumping the implant up. That has more to do with my own physiology than anything else. Some people do get natural engorgement - and I can if I suppliment with pills - but ---- not ideal.
However - for all of that - I am 100% without fail FUNCTIONAL when it comes to sex. I did have a nice hour long session with a young guy a week ago --- he almost tapped out since I could just keep going. But in the end he had a happy ending and was thrilled.
So I'd say I'm Satisfied "its OK." I'm not THRILLED because I am not what I was before - but that has more to do with the effects of cancer, the effects of my RP surgery and subsequent Peyrones than anything else - but it does color my experience.

Re: Are you happy with your implant?
LOVE IT! Best thing I ever did for myself. 7 yrs. in now and no problems with the my Coloplast implant. Pump it up just about every morning. My flaccid size went from less then an inch to over 3.5 inches, really happy with that, and my erect stayed the same as it's always been at 5.5 inches. Could not be happier.
Implanted 6/26/2018, Coloplast Titan 20cm, no RTE'S, infra pubic, Dr. Rhee, Kaiser
81 yrs., married 58 yrs. ED for over 20 yrs.

However, life goes on, I eventually came to see that I had simply been unlucky to get a defective prosthethis and that it was worth another shot, I am currently awaiting a date for a complete revision, with all the pain, inconvenience and embarrassment that will entail.
The sexual urge is, short of immediate survival, one of the strongest we have, and will not be denied.
Don't give up. The important thing is that there is a solution. Even if you need 2-3-4 revisions, it is better than staying where you were before with no erection whatsoever.
I am surprised they waited so long for the revision since 2023. Is this because of insurance being slow?

That is really good to read that you are so happy with the malleable. Who did your malleable implant? and do you have good natural engorgement?
What you say about tubes and pumps is true. I honestly hate the connection tubes and the pump in my scrotum so much, maybe it is because of placement but i find the pump very uncomfortable as it sticks out of my scrotum (it is not on the same level as the testicles), and the connection tubing goes up my shaft and is palpable. Just not having that in itself would be a great upgrade.

Re: Are you happy with your implant?
equusAz, I hear you and I think most bionic guys do also. But FWIW, 1) yes, your body IS doing the erection, it's just coming via a different pathway from your brain
, and 2) when you think "I am not what I was before", be quick to remind yourself that in other ways you are much much better than you ever were before

Re: Are you happy with your implant?
Mark1974, I am sorry to hear how you feel about the implant right now. But FWIW, you are only a few weeks in recovery, and for several weeks post-op there were times I asked myself "what the hell did I let them do to me?". Some of that's because I had an unusually rough recovery. But at 4+ months post-op that's turned 180 degrees. It's one of the best things I've ever done for my wife and I. Best wishes for a good recovery.

actually, it looks like the results here are litte lower than in the studies, 83% are satisfied.
However, I'm sure, if we get some more people to post and answer the poll, the success rate will get higher.
