Now that I have started cycling I've also noticed at max inflation that I also get a slight upwards bend. I always had that pre prostatectomy and hadn't seen it for over 3 years due to ED. I don't mind the bend as it improves the angle, but it also steals a small amount of length.
70 y.o. married from Sydney Oz. PC and nerve sparing RRP 2022, but still profound ED since. Tried pills, injections, shockwave therapy, VED. Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Now dealing with recovery.

The surgeon explained that he used my stretched length (17 cm) to size the implant, which is good.
That finally answered my post question.

Hi Doggedly_positive, doctors actually don't use your stretched external length to choose the size of the implant. They choose the implant size using a measurement tool during dilation. They take your proximal + distal size and add them up together. In fact many doctors don't know or even care what your stretched length is, as that doesn't affect the implant size they will use. But they stretched length is used as a predictor of what your final result will look like when you recover. Hope that makes sense.

In fact, you will probably see for yourself, your penis length is shorter at max inflation than it is as let's say, 60-80% (many people reported that including myself), as at max inflation you are usually getting more girth at the cost of length.

Yes, completely agree. That was my point in the original post.

I wasn't stating that the stretched external length is used by the surgeon, but pre-op, he told me that I had a good stretched length. This of course would have a bearing on the final choice of cylinder when he pushed the measuring device through to the tip of the corpora. Which would be stretched to the extent that he feels is relevant.

So, he told me that final length would reflect the stretched length that he saw pre-op.
RALP with 75% nerve sparing 10/24.
Some tumescence from 5 weeks post op. Erection improved with pills, stalling @ 60%
Keen to get frisky with young wife again. Implanted Rigicon 10X 20 cm + 1 cm RTE mid April 25.
