Hey guys, I stumbled across this looking for answers and found it to be an amazing story. My first question is why Korea ? Is there something unique about having the implant surgery in Korea?
I am really curious about the early cycling. I am 71 years old just had my surgery 15 days ago and dealing with a burning pain that comes on after I'm up and moving around a few hours each day.
My Dr. Won't let me cycle until at least week 4.
My swelling is gone and fortunately it seems I have no hematoma.
I pray that you get well and that this all works out as planned and I trust in God that it will.

Hey good to hear you got the surgery too!

There’s a few reasons why I went with Dr Park: familiarity with Asian patients, high volume surgeon, center of excellence, and he teaches this craft around the world.

I just passed the week 4 mark and he suggested I wait another 1-2 weeks to start cycling due to my swelling symptoms.

When I was at the two week mark I couldn't really stand for more than 15 minutes without things being painful, and had to take 6 Tylenols a day to keep the pain at bay. Give it another 1-2 weeks and you’ll start feeling more normal. I stopped having to take any Tylenol since last week, and am able to walk around quite normally the past couple of days. You’ll get to where I am very soon!

Sep 12 update: 90% pain gone, still working through scrotum swelling, normal activities resumed without pain.

I’m at week 4 now and still 1-2 weeks out from cycling. Theres lots of scar tissue and swelling in the scrotum, but I’ve had breakthroughs the past few days where I can start feeling the pump better. Not quite at a point where I can grab the deflate part easily yet, but getting there.

Dog ear is present but not painful anymore.

One thing I have noticed is the tubing at the base of the penis. It’s quite obvious when I’m sitting down. I can see and feel the tubing on the left side. Doctor said slim men with small scrotum (I’m both) can experience this. He reassured it won’t break from the impact of sex.

Cosmetically it’s not great and might feel obvious if I’m sitting. Don’t know how I feel about this yet, definitely a bummer but I don’t think it’ll be too noticeable with a partner.

Sep 23 update: hate to be sharing this update with some bad news, but unfortunately since the last update, my tubing has gone and started curling outwards making it protrude out of my scrotum. I spoke with my doctor and sent pictures, and we determined that a small revision surgery is going to be performed at the end of next month.

The hypothesis is that I might have sat too much after surgery, and I didn't pull the pump down enough during the initial weeks, that its made the tubing settle in a really not ideal manner.

Luckily, this is basically a pump repositioning revision, so I'm expecting and hoping the recovery wont be as intense as the first one. I will have to keep course for now to keep cycling and do what needs to be done to fix the curvature.

I asked if the tubing could be trimmed any shorter, he said my tubing is already trimmed as much as possible to keep it functional.

It's disappointing to have to go back under the knife so soon again, but I guess this is the downfall of this type of surgery (or any surgery) is to accept that even at the best of hands, things can go wrong.

Update after 10 months:

What a journey it's been. Not checking into this forum as often now but will give an update. The implant feels like a part of my body now. I'm still inflating for about 15 minutes a day regularly. The tubing protrusion hasnt bothered me for awhile and no one I've had sex with could tell that I have an implant. I can get to 100% within 20 seconds by pumping.

Regularly enjoying sex now and it's lifted a heavy mental weight. I'm super happy with it. I think I still have some ways to go until the implant fully adapts to the corpora, since I still have a bit of a dog ear on the left side even when fully inflated, but my surgeon assures me that it will get better with time and the corpora can expand up to 2 years post op.

The first few weeks of recovery now feels like a dream from a long time ago. I'm satisifed and am happy with my sex life, and the fact that I can have sex whenever I want makes my guy friends jealous.

It really changed my life and I know that a revision surgery is all I would need in the future to have erections reliabily throughout my life time. Blessed that this surgery is available during our lifetime!!

I regained my pre-op length and girth about 6 months post op. No complaints there.

An update to my previous message. I did not end up going through a revision surgery to try to conceal the slight protrusion more. I flew to see my doctor again since the last update and he says slight protrusion is normal, and won't impact sex. I didnt believe him at first, but once I started having sex, there's been no complaints from myself and from partners. So we're all set on that problem for now.

For anyone struggling, I highly recommend at least talking to a high volume implanter about it. Life is too short to be hindered by this problem!

I like that you recommend an implant even at the age of 30 and yes, if one goes with a high volume implanter, most of the risks and complications are very small and the only thing left is another surgery or two for replacement of the implant.

1- Did you end up doing that revision for tubing or not at all?
2- Did you get subcoronal incision? I know Park is famous for doing this type of incision. And were you circumcised or not? I am curious how it works out for patients who are not circumcised.
3- Where is your pump located? in the front or back of the testicles? And higher or lower? Are you happy with the pump placement?

That last update you did, you didn't seem too happy. Are you saying in this update that you didn't end up worrying about the revision surgery because you got used to it?.

It's really good to hear such a positive review, especially from someone younger. I'm 43, so a bit older but also quite younger than a lot of the other guys on here. I'm always interested in guys journals that are more similarly aged to myself as I'm also looking at getting an implant in April next year when my insurance kicks in

1. I did not do the revision for tubing. The doctor says some protrusion is normal and its the part that can't be trimmed because its not the part that leads to the pump. During sex, it hasnt been noticeable to partners. So I'm not worried about it anymore.

2. No, for my particular situation he did penoscrotal instead. But he primarily does subcoronal.

3. Back of right testicle. very well concealed and perfectly lined up with where my testicle is. Again, unnoticeable during sex. The pump placement is something I'm super happy about.

The main thing I was concerned about was the slight protrusion of the tubing and afraid of being "found out" during sex, but after I started having regular sex and it gone unnoticed, I stopped worrying about it and have been happy! I'm 90% satisfied with the implant. I wish it was a bit more concealed, but I'm sure by the time I get a revision it'll be even better. One thing to note is to not expect 100% satisfaction (pretty much anything with life really). I was worried for months but as I kept using it, the implant adapted to my anatomy more and more and I regained my lost length, so Its been good. What I have now is already miles ahead of what I had to deal with before surgery.

Thank you my friend! It's been a rollercoaster of emotions before and post op. Now that I'm a year out this thing has been a godsend. Going to a reputable surgeon is such a critical part of having a successful surgery. And I agree, life is too short to not have great sex!!
