I would keep it clean and dressed at least until the sutures are gone. Put Polysporin on the incision. Unless your doctor says different, I would NOT soak in a bath until the sutures are gone... you don't want the floating bacteria in the wound. If you see any sign of increased redness, pain or swelling... get to a doctor immediately... do not let it get to the point where there is a fever, that's too late.

OK, I think that's a little weird... how are you suppose to keep the Neosporin on the wound and not on your underwear? At least with no-stick dressings, it will keep it in the wound... oh well, he can add MD beside his name, I can't.

Looks good. I've had a lot of surgeries. Dermatologist recommends vaseline to keep a wound from drying and cracking and seals out outside sources such as water and sweat that can carry all kinds of things. He says there is actually no benefit to an antibiotic. I have noticed with the vaseline, there is less scaring. I do believe triple antibiotic ointments help though. I played phone tag for 2 days with doctor when my injection site got infected and I cleared it up mostly with antibiotic ointment. As long as there was no septocemia sign, I was not about to go to the ER. Ointment is petroleum jelly based. Cremes are not.

Guess I should have renamed this “my journal” as I’m giving a play by play each day. Day 5 post op,..a Good Samaritan here pointed out some redness on my scrotal area and possibility of infection. I immed had taken additional pics and forwarded them to a ER MD friend who calmed my fears at the moment. I taken mirrors and looked several times, 3 showers daily now. I haven’t noticed any more redness, leakage, or heat, so I’m satisfied for now. The pain of the incision in too scrotal area (base of shaft) isn’t as bad now. It’s the soreness of my balls, esp where the pump and block lays. I went to work today for a couple hours (desk job) but had a good excuse to leave as my supervisor knows of my procedure and told me to take all the time I need. I still don’t wear underware because where my dick is slightly pumped anything touching the tip of it cause s discomfort. Anyways by performing search’s here, scrotal pain is fairly common and will go away hopefully. Guess it’s the extra weight and tenderness. Damn all this free time alone and I’m still thinking about sex and what I will become that I want to rub one out but know not to. Guess I’ll continue to watch dems and Pubs fight it out on the conformation hearing. Lol
