I don't understand the point of posting this statistic, it's rather meaningless.
If 10,000 IPPs are implanted per year, over the course of 20 years that's 200,000 implants "out in the wild". If 30% of one year's implants are revisions, that's 3000 revisions annually. Divide that by the 200K in use and you get an annual failure rate of 1.5%.
That's exactly in line with industry stats of 1-2% needing revision annually.
Your calculation is completely wrong..you divided
anual failure rate by
20 years implantations...you should be dividing anual by anual and 20 years span by 20 years span.
And it's not 3k failures per year it's atleast 4.2 k...refer to lasthope's monthly post of ipps failures reported on MAUDE...also consider that not all failures are reported (there are multiple reasons for this but nvm we will take it as is)....yet there are ~350 failures per month reported.
If we consider that 22 k are implanted every year in the u.s (i believe that's a hoax number for multiple reasons as well but again nvm) , then yearly failure rate is 4.2k/22k...that's approx. 20%
YEARLY failure rate.
Also why is coloplast's statistic that ragingbul posted meaningless ? Is it because you just don't like it ?
I might have already challenged your absurd calculation once on reddit..were that you?
See...being biased won't make us any good because they will keep manufacturing shit as long as you are feeding their propaganda...please stop...and all your look alikes who are cheering and celebrating months out of surgery as if it were decades...there's a fine line between positive attitude and arse licking...do what makes you sleep well at night but don't you ever make a fog and disrupt every attempt of progressive argument here...because it's obvious and lame....i bet u intentionally made the yearly rate ÷ 20 yrs rate...makes me kinda angry
