Absolutely. I had episodes of ED early on but tried to ignore it or blame it on other things. I never thought of it as physiological - always blamed nerves, or having had too many beers, or something else. I started using pills in my thirties and they worked most of the time but not all of the time so I was always anxious and worried about losing my erection. This took a lot of the joy out of sex and made me focus on cumming before I lost my erection. That made intimacy horrible. The last decade of my first marriage we never had intercourse - she would give me blow jobs once or twice a week and she would get laid during the week while I was working and the kids were in school. It was kind of like the don’t ask do tell policy. It was a hell of a way to live.

I got divorced and remarried in my forties and the pills continued to work most of the time. My second (current) wife and I had good intimacy even if we didn’t have lengthy intercourse. We used to joke that sex was like a Chinese dinner - it wasn’t over until you both got your cookies. I generally got her to orgasm before we had intercourse. But my check engine light came on n my late fifties and the pills began to fail me more often. Finally in my sixties I went to injections and I had great hopes that this would give me good, hard erections. But they never worked for me. It was deeply depressing. My urologist told me I most likely had leakage that had progressively gotten worse and I’d probably never have more than a brief stiffy - nothing suitable for intercourse. That’s when we talked about implants and in January of this year I got mine installed.

Looking back now, do you wish you got the implant back in your forties?.
I'm 44 this year and am already sick of pills and I have no interest in injections.
I just want my confidence back and I don't think I'll ever get that by continuing to take pills

I’m sorry to say this brother but please don’t discourage anyone here with ur opinion on this forum. This forum is a hope for millions of men who are suffering a single comment like this can seriously make one individual change he’s mind about the implant. The implant I’m about to get gave me so much hope to continue my life and not kill myselt . Frank talk gave me the support that no one else could give me it’s literally the best fcukin thing that has happened to me regarding mental support because I know I’m not the only one and the brothers here supporting eachother. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it but at the same time I encourage you to look into it because who knows things may just work out fine ? And you’ll be urself again. Life is hard it’s going to give u every opportunity to get you down but that’s the sad reality of it. But the beautiful thing about life is how we fight the problems we are facing that’s what makes us live and enjoy to the fullest. I hope you do over come this situation one day but negative thinking can really change ur mind and other peoples mind around you be positive and face any hardship that comes to u as a man bro

I appreciate your position and comments but also feel that Mark’s comments are relevant to his experience and he has a right to them and to express them. The forum rules do not stipulate that all posts must reflect positive experiences and views only. The OP asked for our opinions, Mark gave his and it is valid. This issue and implanting is a serious decision with positives and negatives. Hearing from both sides has value.

That said, I feel more confident with an implant in sexual and non sexual situations than ever before.

Mark1974, I'm sorry that you've been going through this rough patch, from your signature you got the MPP implant. I have the IPP, so I can't relate to your situation, but it was a journey for me and I thought the glans pain would never go away.
I hope that your situation with the implant will pass as time goes by, for me it was worth it to be able to have enjoyable sex again with my wife. I'm 3.5 years out now from surgery and life is great and sex is great.
