Basically, my stretched length, bone to tip is 7" (17.7 cm), but my VED length is only 5.5" (14 cm).
I presume that stretching lengthwise steals girth and in the VED, stretched girth steals length.
So, my question is, what will the surgeon decide will be my post-op length, sizing his choice accordingly?
If in fact he only decides using the stretched length measurement, will my obsessive cycling post op give me the 7" I want, given that the implant will initially stretch girth over length, at a guess, then once the tunica has stretched to its maximum girth as limited by the implant, it can then stretch longitudinally?
Thanks for any observations.
One thing I noticed in using a VED is that cheaper ones don't always give optimal results. I have an inexpensive but reasonable quality sex toy pump that we've used for years just for fun. But it will not attain anywhere near the length of the medical grade Vacurect device I bought some time after my prostatectomy, when it became apparent that ED would be on ongoing problem. I don't recall exact measurements for the cheaper device, but pre implant I was able to get bone pressed 185mm/7.4 inches with the Vacurect. I would estimate about 20% less with the cheaper device, no matter how much I pumped it. I didn't measure stretched length pre implant but I was about 6 inches naturally erect pre RRP.
70 y.o. married from Sydney Oz. PC and nerve sparing RRP 2022, but still profound ED since. Tried pills, injections, shockwave therapy, VED. Finally implanted Mar 6 2025 AMS 700 LGX 21cm x 12mm, no RTEs, MS pump, Penoscrotal.
Recovery going well.
