My biggest frustration is that the first doc I went with to get Trimix, did not know that alprostadil cannot be tolerated by roughly 20% of men. This led to months of experimentation, never being able to find a dose of Trimix that worked well, having painful erections and priapisms (3 trips to the ER). I finally went to another doc who immediately knew that I needed to get on a special Trimix recipe with very low alprostadil, or Bimix. I am now on Bimix. I imagine a custom Trimix recipe with very low alprostadil would be costly, so I am committed to making Bimix work.
I don't know if my response to Trimix had anything to do with my medical condition. I am on aggressive ADT for metastatic prostate cancer, so there is virtually no testosterone in my body until I finish 2 years on ADT.
