I don't know for sure, but I don't think a doc that specializes in Titans and hasn't done many AMS in 15 years is going to have a nice, fresh selection of AMS implants available to him in the OR to choose from if he feels like it. I assume there will be a Coloplast rep in the theater with his briefcase full of fresh Coloplast parts.

Also, "will break sooner" is not borne out by the statistics. The differences between the 2 are insignificant, but if you get down to the nitty gritty, the AMS is more durable. (AMS+91% mechanical survival at 5 years, and Titan at 87%) AMS also has a lower infection rate with their InhibiZone coating.

Lastly, and I think this has as much to do with how many surgeons focus only on Titan than other factors (maybe even more), the Titan is less expensive for the doctor to purchase, which equals more profit incentive. This can be hundreds of thousands of dollars per year to the practice. That's a couple of Ferraris. 8-)

I've watched Perito's video of why he prefers infrapubic over penoscrotal...he said primarily because he can do a infrapubic installation in 15 minutes where penoscrotal takes 45. He directly said there was more money to be made with infrapubic. So, don't discount the profit motives of some of these docs. Whether or not you get best placement of the pump in your scrotum, THE PART YOU'LL INTERACT WITH MOST OF ALL, may come down to whether or not the doc wants to vacation in the Alps two or three times this winter.

You may be right about many of these points. However he had every single model out on his desk and point blank told me he is going to have an amx cs ready to go in the event that it’s a better fit once he opens me up. Another thing is, Eid will toss implants until he gets it right if he has to and take the loss. He not only told me this but two separate posters here on Frank talk confirmed this is precisely what happened during their surgery with him.

So I am confident Eid will do right by me once I’m on that table. I’m just more stressed than anything.

Sorry to hear it. I recently had consults with Eid and the same experience. He doesn't seem very motivated or encouraging at all. Doesn't matter though as long as he is still a good surgeon.

Regarding the recovery with a Titan, i can tell you that with my girth of 4.7 and a 20 cm Titan, i had a very easy recovery. I don't think it's as simple as smaller girth = rough recovery.

To the AMS, i wouldn't worry at all about the stability, there are many guys here with 7 inch plus lenths and RTEs (even with LGXs) and are super happy with it.

Good luck man
