Steroids suppress the immune system and make infection more likely.

My deflate bars hurts to use (2 weeks post-op) if I'm not careful too. There's a lot of trauma down there that needs to heal.

Valdekio, when I had my device training at 6weeks, the male nurse pushed the deflate button on the pump and I can tell you it hurt like heck. Then he told me to pump it up as much as I could. I could only get in 10 pumps because the big AMS MS pump with all its ridges hurt too when squeezing the bulb, because the surgical capsule hasn’t formed around all the implant.
I wouldn’t think that you would need any extra antibiotics. I don’t know about a steroid, where that would help. It just takes time.
