Good luck, mate. I agree 100% that icing is hands down one of the most important things you can do after your surgery. It isn’t just about comfort, it directly impacts how well your body heals. The swelling and inflammation that naturally happen after a procedure like this can cause extra pain, slow down recovery, and even put more stress on the tissues that are trying to settle around the implant. Cold therapy is your best weapon against that. When you apply ice packs consistently (usually in 20-minute intervals with breaks in between), you’re causing your blood vessels to constrict. That slows down the flow of fluid into the tissues, which limits swelling and bruising. Less swelling = less tension and pressure on the surgical site, which = less pain. It also helps prevent hematomas (blood pooling) that can complicate healing.

On top of that, icing helps “numb” the nerve endings in the area. This isn’t just about pain relief, reducing nerve irritation early on means you’re less likely to deal with lingering hypersensitivity as things heal. And by controlling swelling in those crucial first 48–72 hours, you’re giving your implant the best chance to settle into place smoothly, without extra tissue trauma. A lot of guys think meds are the main thing, but truthfully icing is just as important, it’s like active participation in your own recovery. The implant surgery is a big deal, and the small habit of icing regularly can make a huge difference in how fast you get back on your feet and how comfortable you are along the way.

You got this!

Get it son (mate :D )! Not the funnest thing I've ever done but honestly recovery was pretty easy for me. 9 days post op & I was partying for a 4th of July celebration. Take it easy first few days like some have said & I think you'll be fine. I just chose to trust the process & tried to stay positive (negativity breeds negativity I think). Could always be worse. Less than 50 years ago we would have been cooked. It's a new lease on life.

Keep us posted & good luck brotha

After a few hours,

- No noticablw loss in size, looks amazing
- slight annoying pain in the scrotum
- difficulty passing urine, is dribbling out really slowly (any advice?)
- feel abit woozy after being under
- scrotum is wrapped in bandage and so is my penis.

Just wondering if anyone had similar experiences thanks lads! Bloody love this group :D :D

Congratulations! Good to hear you’ve come through the surgery without any issues. Yes, you may find it a bit challenging to pee the first few days. Your little guy took a bit of a beating so it’s going to be swelled and a little raw. You’ll be fine. Stay on your back and keep iced up for at least 3 days. I was icing every day through the first 2-3 weeks. Helps keep the swelling and pain down. For me, most of my pain, and the longest lasting area of discomfort was in the scrotum. It became less tender and painful around 4-5 weeks when I started using the pump.

Congrats!!!!

It’s great you are on the other side of this now. Excellent!

Narcotics can cause urinsry retention. Yet another reason to skip them if you can just get by with Ibuprofen. It will likely get better as the day progresses, the anesthesia wears off.
