Here’s a bit more about me:
Age: 48
Surgery Date: 6 weeks post-op
Reason for Implant: I had a prostatectomy due to a family history of prostate cancer. After weighing the options, this felt like the best decision for me long-term.
As for my implant details:
Model: AMS 700 CX (Controlled Expansion)
Pump: Momentary Squeeze (MS)
Cylinder Length: 24 cm
Rear Tip Extenders (RTEs): 2 cm on the right side only
Total Length: 26 cm on the right, 24 cm on the left
Still getting the hang of cycling and deflating can be a challenge some days, but I'm treating it like part of my recovery job. Confidence is growing little by little, and it helps to hear from others who’ve made it to the other side of this. Grateful to be part of the brotherhood — looking forward to learning more from you all.
Thanks for the info Newly,
I'm sorry about making the big decision about removing your prostrate due to family history. You didn't say when you had that surgery for the removal of your prostrate. I can't help in that area, I still have mine but I did have a prostrate procedure to reduce the size of my benign enlarged prostrate with the Boston Scientific Rezum procedure which injects small amounts of steam into the prostrate to kill tissue and shrink the prostrate.
On cycling, you're at 6 weeks and I could barely get in 10 pumps when the nurse deflated me and gave me instructions how to deflate and pump. I still had pain and numbness in my new bionic dick at that point.
It just takes some time to get the cycling going and trying to get in enough pumps to stretch out the tissue and help get back your original erection length.
I had to find a way to squeeze the pump the best way. I looked at several videos made by Boston Scientific where they would show different methods. The best one for me that I use is, I use the knuckle of my right index finger and the middle of my right thumb to squeeze the pump which uses your forearm muscles rather than your finger muscles to squeeze.
It still took time to strengthen up the forearm muscle so that I could get in good quality wall to wall pumps.
You've got a lot of implant to get to the max inflation, so just pump as much as you can. My docs cycling protocol was pump twice a day to the max that I could pump in for 20 minutes in the shower, for a total of 40 minutes each day. After showering I would shave with it pumped up.
I would start having pain in my glans toward the end of 20 minutes of inflation and that took many months to get where I could stay pumped up to the max for more than an hour.
I also did extra cycling in a large garden tub, I would fill it with very warm water to help with the pain. I would pump up to 50 to 70 percent and bend my dick in all directions for 5 minutes and then I would pump it up to the max and see how long I could handle max inflation without crying uncle.
I know you'll have more questions,
Follow your doctors cycling protocol and do extra if you can
Hang in there!
