Thanks...do you mind telling me you're recovery times for each surgery? The doc said he thought typically PS was more like 6 week recovery and IP closer to 3 weeks, which is part of his preference. I do like the idea of everything being essentially invisible though.

Man, tough question, my first one was 6 yrs ago, at that time I would agree with the 6 weeks, and that was when I had first sex with the implant. Everyone is different, also procedures have changed, I mean guys today aren't even taking pain pills after surgery and it's their first! So, I can tell you this on my revision, no pain, no pain pills, walking through the neighborhood in 48 hrs, and had sex on day 10. One question I would ask is if my implant fails, and I have it done infrapubic can it all be removed penscrotal. I have read of guys that have had revisions and their reservoirs are left in place along with the new reservoir. I had my original reservoir removed but I had to ask my surgeon to do it, just wondering if it placed differently infrapubic.

Good to know! It does sound like revisions are less traumatic since tissues are already stretches and the surgical cavity is formed. When we say 6 week "recovery" it sounds like that's the time to sexual activity. How long is it before you can go out in public to an office job? Dr. Hakky suggested taking two weeks off.

I had the peno install which did take 6 weeks before I could cycle and cleared for sex, but everyone heals different and for me it took longer than six weeks; for me it took between 8 to 10 week before things got way better.
I got back on my road bike at 4 weeks, so I got back in the saddle on my road bike way before I got back in the saddle with my wifey

Thanks! I'm *typically* a fast healer, but I'm not assuming anything and I know this surgery is pretty traumatic to the body. I hope I can at least be moving around normally and can go out in public (without looking like a perv with a big crotch bulge) at two weeks. I know the sex part will be longer.

Lots of time to think before heading to surgery, huh? Nice to be able to plan ahead.
First 2 days I was pretty much on the couch, but did walk out to my garage a couple times for a smoke. By day 3-4 I was back to my normal routine heading to the garage to smoke about every two hours. (quit cigs 2 years ago)
Took me 6 weeks to have sex, and it made me sore as hell the first couple of times. Once all the healing was done and I got used to having a bulge it has been great.

That sounds pretty speedy, OG! Dr. Hakky said that he does surgery on Tuesdays, and some of his patients can get back to work the following Monday, but it's better to have two weeks off in case you need it. I'm curious what surgical approach was used on you. Dr. Hakky said infrapubic has faster heal time generally, but I'm trying to verify that anecdotally with members here.

My first implant I took 2 weeks off, to be honest it should have been 3 weeks. I walked quite a bit and changed into sterile gowning a lot, (pharma mfg) I wore a condom for 2 weeks, glans were so sensitive, a baby socks worked as well over the condom, the revision I could have went back after a week but luckily I am retired now.

I had infrapubic on a Tuesday last February (2/25), with minimal pain and swelling, and was cleared to start cycling at 1 week. During that first week I was inflated about 70% so it really wasn't practical to go anywhere, at least not comfortably. It was a relief to finally get deflated and it felt so ironic to be sick of having an erection! :D

After that first appointment I was back in the office the next day for half a day and fully back to the office by week 2. It definitely helped to wear looser fitting jeans and things were a bit sore and occasionally uncomfortable, but tolerable, and now by week 7 I'm feeling great. I was cleared for sex on week 3 and been enjoying it every since. Really happy so far!

That's good information. I have a lot of leave at my job, so I can take three weeks of vacation and just use whatever actually I need. I'd heard of that baby sock trick, so funny.

Wow that does sound faster than most guys. Congrats on a smooth recovery!

Mine was infrapubic. Think doc took some extra skin off my sack at the same time. That incision was sore for several weeks.
