Implant date was 12/14 (12 days ago). First off, super bummed about sizing. In a VED I could reach 5.75 length without issue, 5 girth. I had lost some size due to peyronies and scarring (originally about 6×5.5). Dr. implanted 15cm+1RTE (about the smallest I've seen posted). Anyway, post implant I'm at about 4.5 (been too sore to check girth, but seems decent, although inconsistent from base to shaft - base much thicker - tubing?).
1st follow up was 8 days post. Dr said things look good and had me begin cycling, but I have a few questions I thought I'd post here before writing to my Dr.
Is it normal to not feel fully deflated? I feel half-hard all the time and it's uncomfortable to wear jeans. I squeeze to deflate and feel a buzzing at first, and momentarily while squeezing the penis, but then it stops and doesn't get any less rigid. How can I determine if I've been sized correctly?
I can only seem to get 5 pumps in before it's inflated. I can keep pumping though, 4-5 times, but it never gets any longer/harder.
I want to get size back - I'm cycling 2x a day for an hour, but any time I try to use the VED it's sore due to the penoscrotal incision/stitches. How long until this heals? I fear I can't use the VED until then.
I also feel I have a lot of excess skin - even when fully inflated - I never used to have this.
I've tried stretching a little up, down, left, right, but I haven't watched the Perito videos yet.
I still have Cialis. Is there any benefit to taking daily dosages still?
I'm open and thankful for any/all advice. Thank you!!
Welcome to the brotherhood. First some good news. Your doctor activated you at 8 days which is an indication the doctor is current with reports that show a relation to size loss and long waits for activation. So I would follow your doctors instructions to the letter. Ask your doctor before doing anything that was not instructed. Infection is at the highest risk now and will reduce over the first year. After that the risk stays at an extremely low rate. If your doctor signs on with the stretching exercise or VED use then you are good to go and follow your doctors instructions. After your incision is healed and you are released from the doctor you can decide if you want to go against your doctors instructions and try some other methods. I used pump adding cycling where I would add pumps every 5 minutes or so. I am surprised you are at an hour already. It took me some time to build up to an hour.
The recovery for this can take a very long time. I even had gains in length out past 1 year. I told myself I would not judge the outcome of this until 1 year after surgery. Think of a knee replacement. Takes some time for everything to recover. Sure you can walk in a short time but it is much longer until all the stiffness is gone. Your pump is self-lubricating and the more you use it the easier it will be to operate. I had trouble with my pump working correctly. The valves had trouble switching fully and some fluid would go back in the cylinders in deflate mode. I would pump until the bulb popped indicating I was in inflate mode and that would lock any fluid from going back in the cylinders. With my long pump adding cycling my shaft was sore and I had some discomfort from dog ears and would put in enough pumps to be comfortable. Now the pump is working well and I just press the deflate button until I fell the buzz after I release the button. I do not squeeze my penis any more it just deflates on it own.
The base of my shaft is much bigger than before. I was really narrow at the base and much larger 1/2 to 3/4 up the shaft. That changed with the surgery as the cylinders are rhe same size end to end, In many cases a doctor will use no or as few RTE's as possible. This results in attachment point of the tubing to the cylinders being down inside the corpora. Some doctors like to have the attachment point to exit the incision. This results in more RTE's and different way of measurement.
I too have extra skin. I even had scrotal webbing removed with my surgery. You have 3 erectile bodies in the penis and the IPP cylinders only take care of 2. If you are having glans engorgement with sex some of that extra skin may go away. If you no longer have glans engorgement you may want to try ED meds and see if that helps. Another question to ask your doctor about. But follow your doctors instructions as to when you are cleared for sex.
Good luck going forward with this.
Thank you so much for all of this information! Very useful, and I will no doubt come back to it for a refresher! I'm very happy to hear that most men are happy with the results. As stated, I'll be patient and just stick with the regimen and hope for the best!
Thanks again!!
