How much is the average life expectancy of an implant? Most the "experts" mentioned between 10 to 20 years, then I found a site with a poll mentioning that most of the guys with implants lasted them between 1 and 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!. I'm only 46 years old, do I suppose to have 4 o 5 revisions? $20000 × 5= $100000

Don’t get a implant then. Like you said your better off

I’m at the point of really needing an implant and I’m in my 30s but every time I come on here, I just see so many issues, problems, ‘kinks’, niggles, early failures and so on and so on.

As a treatment modality, one could easily be forgiven for believing this is a sub par approach; one fraught with risk and drawbacks.

Can anyone say otherwise?

Well this has a happy ending for most people. But it can go really really really bad. I just came in from cleaning up the garage and I am trying to get used to the idea of being in chronic discomfort when I do basic things.

I just turned 34 this past week and I had my implant for a year. Best decision I have made and I would not go back. I had ED for 12 years before getting the implant and my only complaint is not do this sooner.

I understand the points about the potential issues and the costs. The risk is always there. But lets take my situation, for example. Previously I could not have sex, my erections bent wildly to the left (>45 degrees), my erection could not last more than a minute due to severe venous leak.

The idea of an implant concerned me, which is why it took me almost a year to pull the trigger. I had 4 years of terrible ED prior to the surgery.

Since getting an implant (and despite having some issues with it as we speak) I have had amazing, full-force, balls deep, no condom, sweaty sex.

To me it was worth it, and I am more than willing to handle the potential problems that may arise due to being implanted. Whether its costs, time and recovery for revisions, some chick not digging that I am implanted - whatever. Its a million times better than what I had before, and I have so many ways of dealing with the risks of it now.

Does that mean don't explore your other options? No, by all means try other things. But if you are sitting there, and you realize that nothing else is working, then its time to face it and acknowledge that, despite all of the risks, it may be a better option that what you have to deal with now.

Again this is my person opinion/experience. Also, be judicious about your surgeon.
Titan OTR. Dr. Hakky - successful surgery and very happy with outcome.
My advice: choose a world-class surgeon and make yourself the healthiest you can.

If you got a Titan, the device has a lifetime warranty. So revisions will be considerably cheaper. (10k cheaper). The only piece of evidence you need are peer reviewed journals, and they all support the 10 year prediction.

Ok, I have to weigh in: for me this was an easy procedure and I did not go to a high volume doctor to get it. I consulted with her twice before the surgery and just had it. I admit I was worried before the procedure because if what I read here about the Titan flaccid. It was not painful for me due to the drugs, though there was a good deal of discomfort. I had only a little bruising and swelling and the partial erection for two weeks got old to be sure. My erect size is as large or larger than it was when I was 20 years old and much larger than right before the surgery.

If I was in my thirties, I would not hesitate to do this procedure.

I just had my implant inserted on June 1st. so a newbie.

I had substantial trepidation also but I had exhausted pills, VED and Trimix. I spoke with guys who had the device, saw it in operation, etc. i.e. I did my research.

I did not go to high volume Dr but consulted with one. I ended using a Dr who was thought of highly and had trained under a couple of high volume docs. He in fact made me feel more comfortable as he was not a factory.

There is no guarantee with any surgery but if you go into it with "doom and gloom" that is what you are going to get.

Do your research, make a decision and have a positive attitude.

Though I am uncomfortable in the middle of the healing process, I am glad I moved forward. Every day the soreness reduces and I can pump up fully.

The cross section of people who are posting here is not a scientific randomized study. It is heavily skewed towards guys that are having problems and looking for solutions. So if you feel like you are reading lots of posts with people describing issues, keep that in mind.

If you have exhausted all other possibilities, it’s implant or impotence. I’ll choose an implant any day or the week over impotence.

I’m on a large dose of very strong TriMix/injection. I’m near the limit of what my urologist says will work. So when the max stops working I’ll get an implant. And I look forward to being able to be spontaneous, instead of leaving the bedroom to go draw up refrigerated medication and give myself a shot.

There is something great to be said for being as hard as you want, for as long as you want, whenever you want, and being able to continue AFTER you cum if you want.

Avoid the noise. While some have posted some great information and candid issues with their implants - there are far more success stories than not. Happy to chat if you'd like - PM and will provide #. I'm two years out with AMS700 and nothing but great experiences with Urologist and procedure.

Unfortunately we all report only if there is a compliant very people report success stories. How many times we had great customer service and took a survey? It applies too here. So dont get discouraged by the reports. Rather learn from it. There will obviously be some risks and issues but they are very small. Look at my case ( read my progress and my journal) - I had implant and circumcision and ready for sex in 4 weeks! There is no sign of implant near my pubic area looks neat and clean and didnt face any issue( maybe some learning curve is involved thats about it).. I would highly encourage you to read up extensive journal by Tangerine https://www.franktalk.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16298&hilit=Tangerine#p146383.. I am willing to talk, chat as needed. PM me.
