My condition is permanent. I had a cath back in 81 for anther injury and hospital stay and had a bit of trouble before surgery. I had a cath for the surgery and afterwards it was worse. I even used a pad for a while but that is something you have to keep extras on you all the time. The TP worked for a while and the pads gave me a rash so my local uro has me on Myrbetriq. This gives me much better control. I even could forego the TP for a while. But I am back again with the TP. Regardless if this is temporary or permanent with light leakage it is a good way I have found to control the problem. Most times I can reuse the TP before I shower again but other times I will change it out if needed. Just step into stall and toss the old damp tissue and make up a pad of new dry. Only other way for me is to dehydrate myself. Did this for dating in the past. As a 24-7 decaf coffee drinker I have a TP pad most all the time.

For me peeing since my implant has become a sit down job. And drips, always one or two drips. I totally blame that on being catharized.
After peeing I grab a few squares of TP, place it under my penis to the tip, then use fingers to milk those last couple of drops out. Standing at a urinal is ok, except I wonder if others think I' beating one out I have to shake it so much to get those last few drops.

I have the same since implant. Notice a couple of drops when I am inflated "lounging" around the house. Not a big deal but definitly a new development since the implant.

How do they decide if you need a catheter or not?

I guess I should add that after you have your prostate removed it becomes a whole new ball game. I may have mentioned this before but every time I hear water running the race is on. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose but it's always fun trying. Of course when you're out public having to stream running down your leg is a little embarrassing.

They have implants to solve the prostate peeing problem, as well. I do not have this but have met a person who does. It also has a pump to put pressure on the urethra to stop the flow. Release the pressure when you want to pee.

Thanks. But I had my very enlarged prostate removed because A my ejaculations had reduced to a dribble and B straining to pee made my hemorrhoids bleed. I'm perfectly happy to pee myself sometimes while enjoying an unrestricted go.

Nuance, some Drs use catheters during implant surgery and some don’t . I chose a Dr that that was 5 hours drive from me and was certified under Dr Perito and does the exact procedure he does, which does not include using a catheter. His surgery takes well under an hour and Perito mentions in several of his video that he does the complete implant in around 15 minutes… this is if there is no complications or other issues to deal with. This is one of the reasons I chose the Dr I choose.
