I challenge you to link to a member that has been unable to get an implant due to too many revisions. You've made a claim, you need to provide sources that we can verify. Absolutely no urban legends or friend of a friend stories are allowed.

I don't want to give wrong information, but a lot of forum members are worried about having an implant because of this possibility. I can't find the specific posts, but I've read the sentence many times - I'm worried that I will need a lot of revisions until the end and I don't know when I will be left with an unusable penis without an implant in it. Is there a member of the forum who was implanted more than 15-20 years ago?

What you’re talking about is so ridiculously unlikely that it’s not worth thinking about. I get the concern though. We all worry about worst case scenarios.

But something like that has probably happened to someone who had a lot of complications and comorbidities already and they probably went to a dreadful surgeon.
37, mild to moderate ED since age 21, 3 Dopplers - 1 result VL & 3 later results 'no physical problem', dependent on cialis (efficacy now waning), overcame Lymophoma at age 26, ED causing immense/profound psychological distress. Considering implant.

I don't know on what basis you are stating that in 20 years implanted men need 3-5 revision, and that infection will happen.
If you look at the numbers, both Boston Scientific and Coloplast are selling hundreds of thousands of implants every year worldwide. Go to any website showing reviews about satisfaction with implants. Everywhere it is showing 90%+ satisfaction rate. Higher than any ED treatment.
It is also repeatedly mention by members on FT that most of people posting here are the ones who have issues and seek help or suggestions. Happy members are around for a while, but only a few keep posting for many years. If you look at posts that are dated 2012 for example, you will see names that that aren't active anymore on FT, which is very normal. But make sure that these members are enjoying their implant, and you can imagine how many years their implants are up and running!
These implants are designed to work between 10-15 years, and could last longer. But like any mechanical component, if it is not installed properly, problems will happen.
About implant at 30 or younger, everyone opting for an implant has already tried everything else without success. When ED hits it continues to persist, no kidding. At 30, I was enjoying sex almost everyday, but now, after 50, even with the implant, I enjoy sex, but there are other things like family, kids, that concern me more. what I mean is having ED at 30s should be addressed with more priority than at 50 or 60.

At your age and with the issues you describe an implant may be the best route. Yes, you will probably need a revision at some point. As long as you find a good experienced surgeon and follow the aftercare that should be some time down the road.
Also, future implants will be updated with better materials and mechanics. 10-15 years from now who knows what science will develop for men's ED issues.

Ok, lets establish that its true. Lots of men do WORRY about running out of revisions. Like my sentence & previous post says. I have read literally many years of posts. I have NEVER read of a member that reached that dead end. So I & most others call that an unfounded fear. Btw, the fear of rejection in the dating world for an implant is not supported by members reports.
So I'll be a bit clearer on this. Just because you can find posts like yours that express fear of revisions. That is not proof that the fear is grounded in any facts.
In fact, many of the members that have needed a revision have said that they'll get a new implant upon every failure. They are that happy with their implant.

Just remembered a similar fear. I remember being told many years ago that one artificial knee was all that you could get. Simply not true. I worked with a guy that went thru 5 knees. Another urban myth debunked.

When I learned about implants as a treatment for my ED, I wasn't conflicted. I knew it was the best option for me.

But I have a different experience than you. My ED happened from an injury after years of healthy hard ons.

I think it's a good idea to meet with a urologist. He or she should be able to determine whether or not you have an undetected physical problem.

If that's not the case, then you have some factors to consider.

Could counseling help? If so, then that's the route I would take if I were you. As much as I like my implant, it isn't better than a natural hard on. But it's worlds better than no hard on.

Will insurance pay for the implant if you don't have a physical problem? It seems like the guys on here got implants because of physical problems. I know my insurance company will not pay for an implant unless there is a documented physical issue.

And if insurance won't cover the costs, how will you pay for an implant? The surgery costs tens of thousands of dollars. Maybe that's not a problem for you. Maybe you can do a payment plan.

I hope this helps.
