52y old. RP Oct. 2017. Pills didn't work. Trimix failed after a couple of times. Have inguinal hernia repair on both sides. Implanted AMS CX, 21 cm+1 cm RTE, by Dr. Kai Li at KP, VA, Jan. 2021. New username FinallyBionic

Go back & look at the questions that you've asked on FT. Put them on your list.

I also asked this question here. Healing-wise, I believe Infrapubic and no catheter are much better.
For catheter, the answer I got was it helps the surgeon to locate the tubes more precise. I think with the Penoscrotal, the surgeon can locate the pump better, and no visible scar above penis. That is what I came to know. Maybe others can provide more accurate information.

The videos and publications I've seen state that the use of a catheter during IPP surgery is to define the urethra for the surgeon so he/she doesn't accidentally perforate the urethra while making the corporotomy incisions and to a lesser degree during dilation.
