My uro did my surgery and also prescribed my testosterone. Why not level with him/or her and get a prescription? I could get it from both my primary care doc and my uro. Another PC doc refused to prescribe it for me. I left him for awhile.

Bodybuilding has helped keep me sane and feeling masculine while I am completely inputent. The testosterone was not prescribed by a doctor and I have no perscription. I would like to stay on the shots up to and threw the surgery but I understand this may be a precaution to surgery.

Will the doctor need a blood draw during the consultation before surgery?
Is it ok if my testosterone levels test high?

What is your current protocol? That is, how often do you inject, what kind of testosterone ester (cypionate is the most common), how many mg do you inject? If you send a volume measurement for that last bit (how many cc you inject), also include the concentration (how many mg/ml is the oil). Common concentrations are 100mg/ml and 200mg/ml for pharma grade. I only used test prescribed by a doc, and I had no trouble going through surgery in that state.

However, if you're using enough to put you outside the normal range, you may see some potential for issues. If your source isn't pharma grade, there's increased chance for infection post-surgery since the procedure is very stressful for your body. If you decide to come off of testosterone beforehand, you may have a very very bad time with the surgery...use of exogenous testosterone stops your body's production, meaning after about 6 weeks you will be at near zero testosterone and miserable if you just stop injections. It may also affect surgical recovery, but that's just an educated guess (testosterone helps the body heal from trauma).

The thing you need to do is talk to your doctor. If you can't trust your doc to know about your substance use, you shouldn't trust him or her to do surgery on your penis. We aren't doctors in general here, and you should really get your medical advice from a doctor. :)

My surgeon was aware of my TRT and it wasn't an issue, even with levels that are fairly high. In fact, it may have helped with the insurance approval by helping to show that I'd exhausted all other methods of dealing with my ED.

They usually do some tests before surgery that help to determine whether you have some allergies to drugs they are going to use during surgery. Anesthesia is also an allergen, and you need to be tested to find out whether you have some problems with it.
What kind of steroids do you use? I am used to the ones from PureRawz, but I stopped taking them before my surgery last year. I feared they could influence the test results and stopped taking them a month before surgery.
I don’t know whether I had to do it and whether it was required, but I just did it.

I am on TRT via Testopel and my levels are high. Was not an issue for the implant. In fact my Urologist wanted to be sure my levels were high enough to stimulate libido.

Testo increases rbc - which might show on the normal panel.

My consult is in three weeks and I’ve read that it takes about 3 weeks for the test to leave your system. would rbc be one of the first things to drop when I quit injecting?

Just donate blood--free and easy way to lower RBC. Lots of guys on TRT have to go in every couple months for this side effect.
