First Time Jitters

Postby Anon-E-Mouse » Wed Nov 28, 2018 2:57 pm

I'm getting my first prescription of TriMix later this week. I worked with an online doctor/pharmacy (Defy Medical) so never got a "demo" shot in the doctor's office. I was prescribed 5 units to start and was told I could go up to 12 only if needed.

So I'm needle shy and have the shakes, especially when I'm nervous which I'm sure will be insane when thinking about putting a needle in the little guy. I was thinking an auto-injector might make more sense in my scenario and have a few questions...

1) Which auto-injector would you recommend?

2) What syringe/needle would you recommend for maximum comfort and safety?

3) I read about inserting the needle 1/2 inch into the little guy. I tried stretching the little guy while flaccid and squeezing him and it seems like half an inch would put it 3/4 of the way through him, which seems odd/wrong. I'm not "that" small down there, grower not a shower but just seems like 1/2" is excessive or maybe thats just my needle shy self over thinking it. Thoughts?

4) Be honest here... How bad does this hurt, especially the first few times?

I always found that if you plump the little guy up a little, the needle goes in easier and gives less pain. Sounds counterintuitive huh?

If that's not possible, try to feel when the needle gets through the tunica. You should feel it going easier when it does go through.

You could also withdraw the plunger a bit to see a little blood in it. If that works you're in the right place.

My first try was blind and a disaster.
I hit a vein and injected into my urethra.

Don't inject blindly and avoid visible veins.
Don't freak out if you occasionally hit one.

Anon,

I sent you a Private message. You should see the notification in the upper right of the page.

There are many threads you may find useful in the Injections sub-forum. Please take the time to peruse as many of them as you can stand. I received my original prescription from my local Urologist, now retired. Other than some generic written instructions he didn't provide a demonstration or even any verbal instructions. Good luck, I'm sure you'll get it figured out.

1) Which auto-injector would you recommend?

I don't use one. I'm happy doing it manually. Some guys do like them a lot.
2) What syringe/needle would you recommend for maximum comfort and safety?

I use a 5/16" (8mm) 31 gauge syringe. I strongly prefer that size. The other probably even more commonly used syringe is 29 or 30 gauge 1/2" (12mm) syringe. You will have to experiment and find which works best for you.
Thoughts?

When using a 1/2" syringe I don't insert it the full length of the needle. I think that's the case for most guys using 1/2" syringes. When using the 5/16" needles I insert the needle fully and even indent my flesh with the plastic nub. You will learn to tell when it's deep enough. Read the old injection threads.
4) Be honest here... How bad does this hurt, especially the first few times?

It doesn't hurt bad. Sometimes there is essentially no pain. At worst it like a pinch with fingernails. Sticking a needle into your dick takes some getting used to but the pain usually isn't an issue. If you have an extreme needle phobia that's another matter.

Haha. Reminded me of the first time I tried to inject myself at home. I got so spastic I nearly stabbed the needle into my thigh... no joke. When I speak at men's health seminars about my implant and give earlier treatment efforts I always say I was GLAD injections never worked and add, with a little arm movement visual, "the hesitation was murderous to endure". Gets a lot of laughs but ya have to be there I guess!

Probably not the most helpful post for a nervous new guy trying to get started.

I have been injecting for 2 years and also hate needles. Truth is that it is relatively painless and only had a couple failures for unknown reasons. One time got the shakes so bad that I actually was in and out several times without actually making the injection. For those times I purchased an auto injector which works perfect for me using a 1/2 inch needle set to a 3/8 inch depth. Most other times I just inject manually with the 1/2 inch needle and have to back it out a little to push the plunger. Most of the time it is pain free but you do need to at least watch some videos to be sure you are injecting properly.

For really good and helpful information on injection technique, go to the "General Discussion" section of this forum. Near the top of the list is a thread called "Documents and etc. worth reading list."

Go to the "Injections" portion of the list. Good explanations. Good videos.

Re: pain. It really isn't much once you get your head around the concept. Many guys seem to find that the penis has fewer nerve endings near its base than near the head.

I love my Autoject El. I wouldn’t give it away for $10,000 lol. 100% predictable and doesn’t hurt at all. About $40 at Amazon.

I use 1/2” 29 gauge needle set at 5/16” depth. I tried shorter thinner needles with the autoject but failed many times.
All the best!

Advice from a fellow noob: There's very little, if any, pain. Use plenty of light to find an area clear of vessels. The outer skin is mobile. Relax, worry not and focus on the reward will follow. :D

I received my Tri-Mix, Syringes & Autoject today. Gonna give it a whirl tonight. Been dreading the needle prick all week long, hopefully, after the first use I realize it's not that bad. Doc said to start with 5 units, hopefully, that does the trick.
